The White Lotus has had fans hooked since it returned to our screens back in February, and viewers have been left in shock after working out who one of its main stars is.
The third season of Mike White's comedy-drama anthology series follows the lives of the staff and wealthy guests at a wellness resort in Thailand and stars an ensemble cast including Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Aimee Lou Wood.
While many of the characters were new this season, Natasha Rothwell and Jon Gries reprised their respective roles of Belinda Lindsey and Greg Hunt from previous seasons. And, despite appearing in all three seasons of the show, people are only just realising why Gries is so familiar.

Greg Hunt - or Gary as he is referred to in the third season - has been a recurring character since The White Lotus first hit our screens back in 2021.

He married Jennifer Coolidge's Tanya McQuoid in season two before dating Chloe in the most recent episodes.
Gries' character has travelled through Hawaii, Sicily, and Thailand on the popular show, but the actor found fame more than 20 years ago when he starred in a cult classic.

For those who still haven't figured out why they recognise the 67-year-old, back in 2004, he played Uncle Rico in Napoleon Dynamite.
The coming-of-age comedy centres on a socially awkward teenager as he tries to help his friend become class president, all while dealing with his rather quirky family. It quickly developed a cult following, yet that clearly wasn't enough for fans to recognise one of its biggest stars.

When the coin finally dropped, people took to social media to express their shock.

Another posted: "I've been racking my brain trying to figure out where I knew this dude from. Thank you!"
And a third commented: "I knew I recognised him... just couldn't think where from."
Meanwhile a fourth referenced the famous film, writing: "Oh my God, I had no clue… how much you wanna bet I can’t throw this football over that mountain."

While White Lotus' third season received mostly positive reviews from critics, many viewers were disappointed by the show's ending, with some even calling it 'boring' and others complaining that it left many of the storylines open-ended.
