Ever since the final episode of Peaky Blinders aired on Sunday evening, fans have been dissecting the events of the sixth season. And following what was a gripping finale, many viewers have been discussing what Tommy Shelby whispered to his son, Duke, towards the end of the episode.
At Tommy's farewell meeting in the woods, he whispers something into his son's ear - but the inaudible words (which don't show up with subtitles FYI) were a mystery to viewers.
You can watch the clip below:
Ever since the scene aired, fans have been desperate to know what was said - and there are some theories going around which make a lot of sense.

Many took to social media in the hopes that someone might have the answers.
One person theorised on Reddit: "The first couple of words was 'I want you...' and then it was inaudible. Maybe he said I want you to take over the business, but he could have said anything tbf."
While a second responded: "Yeah the way he gave him the lead in killing Billy and testing Finn definitely alluded to the fact that Tommy saw Duke as his heir to lead the family/carry on the legacy. So it was probably orders/words of advice to lead the family."
Another pointed out: "And did y'all notice in that scene Duke had a Peaky Blinders haircut?"

While a fourth claimed: "He whispers to him ...'Charles is the King, Protect him'... Similar to how Arthur protects Tommy."
Others believe the scene could be a turning point in Duke's relationship with Charles, who didn't look too impressed.
One wrote: "That shot of Charles face when Tommy whispers to Duke at the dinner sets up so much for the movie! It's going to be superb!"

While another said: "Did you notice the scene near the end at the dinner table where Tommy whispers into Duke's ear, and it cuts to Charles who seems to look a tad pi**ed that his dad is favouring the new boy, something there to possibly watch develop in the film."
In February, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight shared that Tommy Shelby will make an appearance in a future Peaky movie.
Not much is known about the premise of the film as of yet, including who the story will follow or when exactly it will be set, but the creator was happy to share some minor details with fans.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Steven hinted that, not only Tommy, but his brother Arthur would make an appearance in a Peaky film.
Asked whether either of the brothers would exist in a world outside of the original series, Steven coyly said: "It's impossible to say yet. But the film – yes."
