One of the most beloved rom-coms in recent memory is getting a small screen adaptation.
The Time Traveler's Wife is being rebooted as a TV series and the trailer looks epic.

The new series is based on Audrey Niffenegger's 2003 novel of the same name, which also served as the source material for the 2009 film starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana.

Game of Thrones star Rose Leslie plays Clare Abshire, a woman in a rather unusual marriage because her husband, Henry DeTamble, played by Divergent actor Theo James, has a genetic disorder that causes to time travel unpredictably.
Clare has to cope with his frequent absences as Henry tries to get used to his new surroundings and find his way back home.
The TV adaptation is coming to Sky in the UK this spring and HBO in the US. The British network describes the series as an “intricate and magical love story” and we can totally see why.
HBO secured the rights to adapt the novel into a TV series in July 2018 and Doctor Who and Sherlock screenwriter Steven Moffat was hired to write.

The six-episode mini-series is directed by David Nutter, who directed the pilot episodes of Supernatural, Arrow and The Flash.
Nutter also won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for his work on Game of Thrones.
The film adaption was a success at the box office upon release in August 2009 and has accumulated a host of dedicated fans in the years since.

Development for the film adaptation began in 2003, the same year Niffenegger’s was published.
Interestingly, Robert Schwentke, the director of the 2009 film, directed James in two films in the Divergent film series; Insurgent and Allegiant.
A release date for The Time Traveler’s Wife has not been revealed but the series is expected to premiere on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW this May.
