Kate Winslet has responded to thrilling rumours that iconic Christmas flick The Holiday is getting a sequel.
The beloved film starred Kate and Cameron Diaz as two love-lorn women who swap houses for the holidays in the hopes of getting away from their own complicated lives - but both end up finding something unexpected on their travels.
While Iris (Kate Winslet) finds love with movie composer Miles (Jack Black) during her visit to LA, Amanda (Cameron Diaz) falls head over heels for Iris's brother Graham (Jude Law).

When rumours of a sequel first broke, fans were ecstatic, and couldn't wait to find out what might happen to the two loved-up, long-distance couples. Would Iris and Amanda move back to their respective homes, or would they take the leap and follow love?
People got seriously excited when The Sun ran a report that claimed the sequel was set to 'start rolling on scenes next year, primarily in the UK and in Europe, but the main talent are all signed up.'
They continued: "It’s one of the most successful movies of its kind and still enjoyed every year by millions of fans around the world - it makes perfect sense to revisit those characters and find out what became of their lives after they hooked up.

“It’ll be funny, poignant, and heartwarming - just what everyone wants for Christmas."
Unfortunately, fans might never know what became of Amanda and Iris, since Kate Winslet has just shut down any rumours of a sequel.
The actress told People: "I read something about that, but it's the first I've heard of it.

"I promise you not an agent or a representative or anyone from the first one around has had any conversation with me about that. Hand on heart, that's never come up."
And to really hammer the point home, director Nancy Meyers backed up Kate's claims, telling her Instagram followers: "So many DMs about this - sorry but it's not true."
So, that's that. There'll be no more Iris and Miles, no more Amanda and Graham, no more Mr Napkin Head.
But we're not going to pull an Iris on it and get so upset that we cry in front of the whole office.

Maybe think like Amanda, instead, and blare 'Mr Brightside' by The Killers as loud as you can and scream out the lyrics with a glass of wine in your hand.
After all, we'll always have the original.
