It has been alleged that Tristan Thompson wanted personal trainer Maralee Nichols to have an abortion after he discovered she was pregnant.
The paternity test has since confirmed that Tristan is the father.
In court documents that have been seen by American publication Page Six, Maralee submitted a text conversation thought to be between Tristan and herself as evidence for her paternity lawsuit against him. She also claimed that the basketball star urged her to terminate her pregnancy.
While Tristan has denied sending the messages, the document claims that his contact information is seen in the messages.
The message reads: “You know how I feel. My feelings haven’t changed at all. Won’t be involved at all.
“Btw if you think having this baby is gonna make you some money. It’s completely wrong. You are aware that I’m retiring after this season. So in terms of support it will be whatever is required monthly for someone who’s unemployed. It’s Texas so it will be only a couple hundred dollars.
“So you better off taking this 75k I’m offering cause [sic] you won’t get nothing near that with having a kid with a father who is unemployed.
“All you will have is a baby with a father who has zero involvement with the child and a few hundred dollars of child support a month.”
The court documents added: “It is also apparent from the context and substance of these communications that they are from Tristan to Maralee, which reflects that Tristan is addressing the parties’ relationship, and even with respect to her pregnancy insisting that she get an abortion and threatening that she will get next to nothing with lesser support requirements in Texas.”
The paternity test has since proved that Tristan is the father of the child, who has not been named.
In a grovelling apology on his Instagram page, Tristan said he is looking forward to “amicably raising” his son with Maralee.
Tristan continued: “Khloe, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you.
“You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you.
"I have the upmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry."
