1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton's astounding weight loss revealed in unbelievable photos as she surpasses milestone

Tammy Slaton's amazing weight loss means that she could be eligible for surgery

Tammy Slaton, one half of the 1000-Lb Sisters cast, has revealed how much weight she has lost since a medical episode in 2022.

Tammy, who recently shared during the sixth season of the TLC show that she was ‘still insecure’ about her excess skin following her significant weight loss, posted a series of photos to her Instagram, allowing fans to have a peak into her journey to a healthier life.

Just two years ago, Tammy was 725 lbs at her heaviest and was placed into a medically induced coma after her lungs and body began to shut down.

When she woke up, she was then given a tracheotomy and needed a breathing tube inserted into her throat so that she could be aided in her breathing.

It was during her time in hospital that she lost an incredible amount of weight, which helped her to hit her weight goal for her bariatric surgery the following year.

“After I got off life support, they put a trach in, so, yeah. I’m trying to get used to that,” she explained on social media.

Her sister Amy opened up about Tammy’s journey, saying to PEOPLE: “I’m glad Tammy is finally getting the help she needs. I just wanted the best for all my siblings.”

Before her medical episode, she was hospitalised in 2021 for carbon monoxide poisoning, and she explained on TikTok that it ‘led to pneumonia, and I was septic’.

After posting a selfie in 2022, she received celebrations from fans, who were happy to see how much work she was putting into losing weight.

One person commented: “Looking good Tammy! You can definitely see the weight loss in your face and forehead!”

And another added: “Your face looks so much less swollen. Rehab seems to be doing you good. I wish you the best on your journey.”

As it turns out, her hospital stay - which lasted 30 days - caused her to lose 115 pounds (8.21 stone).

Then, when she was weighed in February 2023 to see whether she met the 550-pound mark to be able to receive surgery, she was surprised when the scales read 534.7 pounds (38.19 stone)

A month later in March 2023, Tammy took to Instagram to share a series of photos of herself and then posted some TikToks, and fans were astounded by how great she looked.

And one major accomplishment she made was that she was finally able to be able to buckle her seat belt in a car seat.

One person commented: “Seeing Tammy being able to sit in a car seat is so amazing.”

Someone else said: “Tammy in a seat!!!!! Yessss!!!! Major victory.”

She then shared in May that she no longer had to use her wheelchair and could walk on her own.

That same month, she updated fans to let them know that she was no longer using her oxygen support and took out her nasal cannula.

And in August of this year, she then posted images of herself wearing tighter clothing and wrote: “From wearing 8xl in clothes to a 2xl.”

During season six, Tammy shared that she was hoping for surgery to remove the excess skin from her weight loss, which would include ‘multiple surgeries and several phases of healing'.
