Fans left divided after Alec Baldwin’s daughter, 10, shown wearing make-up

Fans left divided after Alec Baldwin’s daughter, 10, shown wearing make-up

The actor took to Instagram yesterday to share a series of snaps of his children

It was Father's Day yesterday (16 June) and many of us - celebs included - took to social media to upload a post to mark the special occasion.

And Beetlejuice actor Alec Baldwin was no different after he took to Instagram to share a series of snaps of his children to his three million followers.

However, fans have since been left divided over the photo dump after spotting that Baldwin's 10-year-old daughter, Carmen Gabriela, was wearing make-up.

Baldin posted six photos in total of his children who he shares with wife Hilaria who he tied the knot with back in 2012 - some of which included María Lucía Victoria, and Ilaria Catalina Irena alongside Carmen as well as four sons Rafael Thomas, Leonardo Ángel Charles, Romeo Alejandro David and Eduardo 'Edu' Pao Lucas.

He is also a father to Ireland Baldwin, whom he shares with his ex-wife Kim Basinger.

The actor captioned the post: "Happy Father’s Day to the dads out there."

While many fans rushed in to share their messages of support, others were clearly incredibly bothered by the fact that one photo showed Carmen wearing what appeared to be mascara and lipgloss.

One Instagram user hit out: "Why does a 10-year-old wear make up?"

"I wondered that too. She’s only 10," slammed a second, while a third echoed: "When do 10-year-olds wear full on make-up?"

Fans were quick to rush to the dad-of-eight's defence though, with one writing: "She’s probably playing with makeup! It’s really not a big deal!"

"My grandkids love to wear makeup and it is just fun," explained a second.

A third chimed in: "Do you know how many times my daughter asked me to do her makeup at that age, or went into my makeup bag for fun? It’s not a big deal."

And a fourth praised: "Beautiful family. My eight-year-old granddaughter loves playing with makeup and we let her! What’s the big deal! So shut your negative mouths and move on."

"I am a nurse who sometimes works in schools," explained a fifth. "Guess what - even wee kindergarten kids put on make up and wear it to school.

"Little girls wear tutus, tiaras and poorly applied blue and green eye shadow. They are PLAYING! If you are seeing something inappropriate or sinister, that's on you."

"Your children are wonderful and you are great dad," defended another fan.

And a final Instagram user added: "Who cares about her makeup?!"
