Dame Anna Wintour has finally revealed the ruth behind her iconic glasses.
Now, as we all should know by now, Anna Wintour is to fashion what Gordon Ramsay is to food or what Jennifer Lopez is to rom-coms.
Wintour, who has been serving as editor-in-chief of Vogue since 1988, has spent decades perfecting her iconic signature look with her trademark pageboy bob haircut and dark sunglasses.

She's also been serving as the lead chairperson of the annual Met Gala since the 1990s.
Known for her allegedly aloof and demanding personality - which reportedly inspired The Devil Wears Prada's Miranda Priestley - it's clear Wintour has never been afraid of speaking her mind.
Back in 2018, Wintour sat down with James Corden The Late Late Show where she was asked to name any celebrity she would never invite back to the prestigious fashion spectacle.

She revealed the name was none other than the President of the United States who had attended the fashion event since way back when in the 1980s.
"Donald Trump," she responded, while the audience erupted in a cheer.
Trump used to attend the gala every year and it was actually where he proposed to Melania back in 2004.

And the latest admission sees Wintour finally unravelling a number of fashion industry myths - including what the deal is with with her sunnies.
Speaking to the BBC, Wintour revealed: "They help me see and they help me not see.
"They help me be seen and not be seen. They are a prop, I would say."
It's clear the celebrated fashionista has clearly stuck to that idea throughout her decade-spanning career given that she's rarely seen without her shades on.

In fact, she even wore them when she sat next to the late Queen Elizabeth II at an indoor runway show back in 2018.
Now that's dedication.
While promoting the new immersive London exhibition titled Vogue: Inventing the Runway, the 75-year-old also admitted that she doesn’t 'really think about' how the public perceive her.

"What I’m really interested in is the creative aspect of my job," Wintour said, adding that she hopes people aren't 'scared' of her due to her reputation as one of the fashion world's most important people.
Additionally, Wintour also addressed another rumour in the fashion industry - that nobody has ever told her no.
"That is absolutely untrue," she confirmed. "They often say no, but that’s a good thing. No is a wonderful word."
At the launch event, the media executive shared her thoughts on the industry - noting that the fashion scene has changed from 'a very small, elitist, private world where nobody was invited to the parties' to one where 'everybody is encouraged to come, to see, and to watch it on a live stream'.
