BBC reveals which celebrities they pay the most

One star takes home over £1 million annually from the BBC

The BBC have revealed which celebrities rake in the most cash from them after releasing their 2023-24 annual report.

Firstly, it is important to note that celebs paid through BBC Studios or any independent productions don't need their salaries to be made public.

But just in case you needed any reason to look at your bank account with sadness today, the BBC's annual salary report has revealed which names are earning the big bucks.

Gary Lineker

The Match of the Day presenter, 63, earns a whopping £1,350,000 - £1,354,999... yearly.

Not too shabby.

Zoe Ball

The Radio 2 presenter has taken a bit of a cut in her take home pay, though we can't imagine she's complaining all that much as she's pocketing a hefty £950,000 - £954,999 compared to previous figures of £980,000 - £984,999.

Huw Edwards

The Welsh newsreader, who resigned from the BBC in April, is the BBC's third highest earner.

He has been off the air since July 2023 after being suspended after it was revealed by his wife that he was the presenter in the middle of the explicit photo allegations last year.

According to BBC policies, suspended employees still remain on the payroll.

Police have not taken any action against Edwards as there was no evidence that a criminal offence had taken place.

The BBC also confirmed that Edwards was not paid off as part of his departure, with BBC's director general Tim Davie saying: "No-one wants to waste a pound but we need to act proportionately and fairly and I think that's what we did."

Edwards earned £475,000 - £479,999, which has risen from £435,000 - £439,999 bracket a year prior.

Stephen Nolan

The Radio 5 Live presenter is also sitting pretty as it has emerged that he earned between £405,000 - £409,999.

Naga Munchetty

The presenter of BBC Breakfast and 5 Live Radio is last on the list, earning £345,000 - a £10,000 rise from last year.

Nick Robinson

Journalist, presenter of BBC's Today Programme and host of Political Thinking on BBC Sounds, Nick made the top 10 list and took home at least £380,000 from the broadcaster, which was a £70,000 rise from the previous year.
