Being the child of a celebrity and having your life in the public eye must be difficult, and one of Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen's daughters has shared why she hasn't spoken to her dad for a while.
Sami Sheen, 21, opened up about the family dynamic during Bravo's new reality TV show, Denise Richards & Her Wild Things.
Sami, who is the eldest daughter of the former couple, spoke frankly about how awkward things have apparently become between them all.

“I would rather do literally anything else than go to lunch with my father,” the 21-year-old confessed, admitting she had turned down the chance to meet up for lunch with her parents and sister, Lola.
Denise went on to explain how it's been a trying time for the family, saying: “The girls have been through a lot with their dad.”
She went on to claim that the relationship has been 'up and down'.

Sami elaborated: “We haven’t really spoken much in the past five months.”
“It goes in very big chunks with him,” she said, before adding: “I think for the first 13 years of my life, it was pretty bad, and then we were OK for a couple years, and now it’s just like, OK.”
Fortunately, Denise can empathise with her eldest daughter as she said: “I understand why Sami feels the way she does.”

“It hasn’t always been perfect with he and Lola, either - with any of his kids. So I hope that he does recognise that because he’s missing out,” she added.
Sami agreed: “He really is missing out.”
While at lunch with her parents, Lola, 19, said that Sami has the same 'dark humour' as Charlie - something that made the actor laugh.
“Hopefully,” he said. “How is she? Is she good?”

“I don’t know,” confessed Lola, who had been feuding with her sisters for quite some time.

While Sami appears to be distant with her dad, Lola said her relationship with her father is 'very close' and called it a 'blessing'.
“My relationship with my dad has definitely improved,” she said.

As for Denise, she said her relationship with Charlie had improved lately too.
The pair tied the knot in 2002 before welcoming Sami in 2004 and Lola in 2005.
They parted ways in 2006 and have co-parented their children ever since.
Denise recently opened up about how she told her daughters about their father's HIV diagnosis.
During an appearance on the Whine Down podcast, she said: “I wish he gave me a heads up, like, ‘Hey, I’m doing it today’.
“I had to have a conversation about that. And it was kind of hard to explain to them what it was. There’s been a few things that I’ve had to have conversations with [them], but for the most part, I really tried to shelter them from a lot of stuff.”
