Billie Eilish has spoken out about her situation with ex Jesse Rutherford, following the news that the pair had broken up.
Eilish, 21, and musician Rutherford, 31, were first linked romantically way back in autumn last year, having been spotted holding hands.
In October, they added to the speculation when they went to a Halloween party together, dressed in coordinating costumes – which appeared to poke fun at their 10-year age gap.

While Eilish dressed up as a cartoon-like baby, donning a giant bonnet and fluffy rabbit slippers, Rutherford transformed into an old man with a fake balding head and grey moustache.
After going Instagram official in November, the couple made their red carpet debut at the LACMA Art + Film Gala later that month, dressed in a giant Gucci blanket.
However, earlier this year in May, Eilish’s representative confirmed to Page Six that the pair had split.

“We can confirm Billie and Jesse split amicably and remain good friends,” the rep said in a statement.
Eilish has now spoken out about the situation on Instagram, having hosted a Q&A on her Stories.
She answered a question from a fan to say she and Rutherford are ‘very very good friends only’, adding a heart emoji.
She added: "My homie forever [hugging emoji]”.

When asked by someone else if she is seeing anyone at the moment, Eilish confirmed she was single.
“NO SIRRRRRRR,” she wrote.
Eilish had previously said Rutherford – who is the lead vocalist of alt-rock group The Neighbourhood – made her ‘really happy’, saying he was the ‘hottest’ guy alive.
When asked by Vanity Fair if she had a boyfriend in October, she replied: "Yeah, I do. And it's really cool and I'm really excited and I'm really happy about it."

She also said she felt ‘really inspired’ by Rutherford, and that he felt equally inspired by her.
Eilish went on: “I managed to get my way to a point in my life where I not only was known by a person that I thought was the hottest f***ing f***er alive, but pulled his a*s.
“Jesse Rutherford, everyone! I pulled his a*s – all me! I did that s***. I locked that motherf***er down.”

Eilish also said they shared a mutual ‘love language’, which was physical touch, and that Rutherford gave her the right balance of ‘space... love and attention, and equal admiration’.
She explained: “I just need to be touching skin all the time – touching and cuddling and hugging and anything skin-related is really a big thing for me.”
