Chrissy Teigen defended after being called out for ‘dirty’ act with her daughter in kitchen

Teigen was hit with backlash over something that others thought wasn't 'sanitary'

Chrissy Teigen has been defended by fans after a cooking video with her daughter brought criticism over doing something ‘dirty’.

The model uploaded the clip to Instagram, showcasing her ‘family recipe’ for Jok Moo, a Thai rice porridge with pork.

But all people could talk about is what she allowed her eight-year-old daughter Luna to do during the cooking lesson. Take a look:

The 38-year-old uploaded the clip on Tuesday (12 November) which saw her and Luna using spoons to shape pork meat into meatballs before adding them to the large pot of porridge.

Chrissy shared that Jok Moo was the 'ultimate comfort recipe', and that she had never enlisted the help of all of her four children until now.

She went on to explain that she's been eating Jok Moo since she was a baby and it’s the 'most ultimate hangover cure!'

She shared: “I finally made my babies our family recipe for jok moo - a hearty rice porridge made with spiced pork meatballs. The aroma of fresh ginger, green onion, cilantro and garlic will fill your kitchen and the warmth of the creamy rice porridge will warm your bellies.”

But what people couldn’t get over was how Luna was squatting barefoot on the marble countertop as she made her meatballs.

While many might think there’s nothing wrong with a kid hopping up to get a better vantage point, it was the fact that she had nothing on her feet that had commenters up in arms.

Remarking on her ‘dirty feet’ near the food preparation station, commenters were quick to call her out.

One person wrote: “Umm feet on the counter ??? Why I don't do potlucks!! Sorry personal preference.”

Another said it wasn’t ‘sanitary’, and wrote: “Is it me? But why are dirty feet on the counter? I love you guys, but that doesn't seem sanitary.”

That’s when Teigen's followers immediately came forward to defend her.

One clapped back: “It's their home. They can do what they want.”

While another penned: “Do you think they are going to throw their dinner right where her feet are and start eating?? Like I'm pretty sure everything is pretty spotless.”

Let’s be honest, it’s not like she’s dipping her toes in the porridge, is it?

During her video, Teigen went on to share her recipe with her followers and talked a bit about her dish.

She said: “I think we could all use a good recipe.

"The past few months have us all feeling stress, unease, discomfort and uncertainty.

“We can find peace in all sorts of things - therapies, art, breaking things in a rage room. But for me, one of the best things we can do for ourselves is fill our bellies with a wonderful meal.”

The model then went on to talk about how she bulk-cooks the meal, stating: “I have about 298 people in my home on a daily basis so I make LOADS at a time but this soup can easily be frozen to eat whenever.”

Soon after posting her cooking clip, she shared her one-year-old, Wren, eating it from his highchair.

Let’s be real here - it looks like a banging dish.
