David Hasselhoff releases statement after ex-wife Pamela dies aged 62

The Baywatch actor's representatives have paid tribute to the mother-of-two

Warning: This article contains discussion of suicide which some readers may find distressing.

After Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff - the ex-wife of actor David Hasselhoff - was found dead in her Los Angeles home earlier this week, the Baywatch star has shared a tear-jerking tribute.

Bach was 62 at the time of her death, with police later ruling the circumstances as a suicide.

After her family alerted authorities to the fact they hadn't seen or heard from her in several days, investigating officers attended the property.

According to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner - as reported by PEOPLE Magazine - she was found on Wednesday March 5, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to her head.

The mother-of-two's agent Sharon Kelly has since issued a statement to the press, describing Back as a 'force of nature', who'll be 'truly missed' by those that knew her well.

Kelly added of her children, Hayley, 32, and Taylor, 34, - whom Bach shared with former flame Hasselhoff: "Pamela often talked about how very proud she was of both her daughters and what they have blossomed into."

"Pamela was a proud mama," she continued. "My heart goes out to her family, her beautiful daughters and granddaughter."

The 72-year-old actor has also since released an emotional tribute, honouring his ex-wife's life and legacy.

In a statement also released to PEOPLE on Thursday (March 6), his representative wrote: "Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff.

"We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time."

Bach and Hasselhoff first met on the set of a Knight Rider episode back in 1985. They'd both been romantically involved with other people at the time, with the actor married to first wife Catherine Hickland, and Bach reportedly dating a comedian.

His 2006 memoir Making Waves saw him recall his first encounter with the 'beautiful blonde with green eyes'.

"We didn't have any scenes together," he said of his ex, who also worked as an actor.

"But I had seen her on the set and, as a joke, a crew member had sent her an invitation to join me in my trailer."

After splitting from their respective former partners, the couple tied the knot in 1989, and went on to welcome their two daughters together.

Sadly, however, in January 2006, Hasselhoff announced he was filing for divorce from Bach, citing irreconcilable differences.

Neither Hayley or Taylor have since publicly addressed their mother's passing.
