Ellen DeGeneres, who relocated to the UK from the US with her wife Portia DeRossi following Donald Trump's election win, has responded to reports that her new home has flooded.
DeGeneres, who presented her eponymous talk show The Ellen DeGeneres Show for 19 seasons between 2003-2022, became somewhat of a polarising figure following allegations over 'toxic' staff treatment.
The 66-year-old then worked with Netflix on a stand-up show, For Your Approval, which addressed the fall out and appeared to be a goodbye to showbiz.

Despite Trump's 2024 election win not being explicitly referenced by DeGeneres as a reason for the move, a source close to the star told press that she, alongside her wife, would 'never return' until America has stabilised politically.
The move was largely overshadowed by reports that the new Cotswolds home had flooded as a result of the chaotic Storm Bert.
A local resident who is thought to live close to the famous couple told MailOnline that 'flood waters are rising by the hour,' and added: “This is the worst I have seen it in years.”

In a post shared to Instagram yesterday (1 December), DeGeneres marked 20 years with her beau - and addressed the rumours.
She wrote: "20 years ago today we began this relationship not realizing what a long beautiful adventure this would be. You are the best thing that ever happened in my life." She added: "So happy we get to travel and explore the world together in the next 20 years, and looking forward to our first snowy Christmas."
DeGeneres emphatically concluded: "P.S. for those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood."

Elsewhere in the post, DeGeneres shared: "You take care of me. You help me see the good in everything. You help to guide me and pick me up when I feel off or down. You are a beautiful soul that I am so very grateful to have as a partner to navigate this crazy life with. My wife. My best friend. The love of my life. Thank you for being you and loving me."
One person commented: "Welcome to the UK it may be cold half the year but we are a lovely bunch!"
Another said: "Happy Anniversary. And happy your home is safe."

According to reports, the idyllic farmhouse shared by DeGeneres and De Rossi was purchased by the couple for a staggering £2.5 million over the asking price.
It's believed that the property was converted into a modern home more than 15 years ago, and that it boasts six bedrooms, four bathrooms and a one-bedroom cottage for visitors to enjoy.
There's also access to a gym, a games room and individual offices within the home.
