Elon Musk's ex-wife once opened up about the heartbreaking reason why it 'sucked' being married to him.
Now, the 53-year-old Tesla CEO billionaire has had 12 confirmed children with three different women and is reported to have also had a 13th child with a fourth woman, however, this has not yet been officially confirmed by Musk himself.
He was married to his first wife Canadian author Wilson, 52, for eight years between 2000 to 2008.

Together, they share 20-year-old twins Griffin and Vivian through IVF in 2004 as well as triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian, 19, in 2006, also through IVF.
The pair welcomed their first baby, Nevada Alexander in 2002, however, at just 10 weeks old, he passed away from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Two years after their split in 2010, Wilson opened up about her marriage to Musk in an op-ed for Marie Claire titled 'I Was a Starter Wife': Inside America's Messiest Divorce.

Wilson, who met Musk while they were studying at Queen's University in Ontario, Canada, revealed that one of the first red flags she noticed took place during their wedding reception where he reportedly announced: "I am the alpha in this relationship."

Recalling that she brushed the seriously bizarre reported comment off at first, suspicions were raised even higher when Musk declared: "If you were my employee, I would fire you."
And, detailing the one thing she said 'sucked' most about their eight-year marriage, Wilson wrote: "I barely recognised myself."

She also went on to claim that her husband pushed her to transform into a more Hollywood-appropriate 'trophy wife' look, adding: "I had turned into a trophy wife - and I sucked at it.

"I wasn’t detail-oriented enough to maintain a perfect house or be a perfect hostess. I could no longer hide my boredom when the men talked and the women smiled and listened."
In the op-ep, published in 2000, Wilson also outlined what she considered to be the final nail in the coffin before their eventual divorce was a car accident she endured.

"My first thought wasn't, 'Thank God nobody's hurt'. It was, 'My husband is going to kill me'. And in my mind's eye, I could suddenly see myself: a woman who'd gotten very thin, and very blonde, stumbling out of a very expensive car with the front-left wheel smashed in," she shared.
