Gwyneth Paltrow has faced criticism over some 'irresponsible' comments she made about her sex scenes with Timothée Chalamet.
Paltrow, 52 and Chalamet, 29 are due to star in upcoming movie, Marty Supreme, which is inspired by the real life ping pong player, Marty Reisman.
While there's reportedly a few steamy scenes in the movie, Paltrow has faced backlash over her comments about intimacy coordinators on set.

An intimacy coordinator is a professional who works with actors to make sure that intimate scenes are safe, respectful and consensual, and to essentially act as an advocate between actors and production teams.
Their presence on movie sets has become increasingly common in the past decade, especially since the Me Too movement in Hollywood.

However, speaking about her recent role, Paltrow admitted she'd never heard of intimacy coordinators before.
"There's now something called an intimacy coordinator, which I did not know existed," she told Vanity Fair.
"I was like, 'Girl, I'm from the era where you get naked, you get in bed, the camera's on.'"
Paltrow explained they asked the intimacy coordinator on the set of Marty Supreme to 'step back' adding: “We said, ‘I think we’re good. You can step a little bit back."

Placing a hand on her shoulder, she added: “I don’t know how it is for kids who are starting out, but... if someone is like, ‘Okay, and then he’s going to put his hand here’... I would feel, as an artist, very stifled by that.”

Paltrow's comments have since been described as 'irresponsible', with producer and former Channel 4 drama boss Caroline Hollick speaking out about the interview.
Appearing at the festival Series Mania where she spoke on a panel called 'Let's Talk About Sex! (And Consent)' Hollick explained: “Every now and then an actor makes a comment over whether they like intimacy coordinators or not.

"Gwyneth Paltrow said she grew up in a time when [actors] ‘took our kit off and got on with it.’ As a powerful woman in Hollywood acting with a man much younger than her, well I’m sure [Chalamet] is chill but I thought it was quite an irresponsible thing to say.
“Bringing an intimacy coordinator on set empowers an actor because there is someone on side who is there to fight for them. Producers have an agenda, writers have an agenda and directors have an agenda. So having someone to back the performer is important.”
Tyla has reached out to Paltrow's reps for comment.
