In her first press interview since announcing her divorce from husband Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez has shed light on what really prompted her to call off her 2024 music tour.
J.Lo filed for divorce back in April after just less than two years of marriage to actor Ben, whom she rekindled with in 2022, having first split in the early noughties.
Their break-up wasn't officially announced until later this summer, citing 'irreconcilable differences' as her reasoning on 20 August.

The news came after months of speculation regarding to the status of their relationships, and just a month prior to their shock split, the pair were reported to have put their 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom California mansion on the market for $68,000,000, which Jennifer has since moved out of.
Since then, followers of the former couple's romance have been dying to hear from either member of 'Bennifer's' mouth how they're coping with their high-profile split.
And this week, in her first interview with press, the mother-of-two not only gave fans an update on her wellbeing, but opened up on the reason she cancelled her This Is Me tour, which was scheduled to kick off earlier this year.

Revealing she 'can't wait' to return to performing, she firstly told Interview magazine: "I have the most understanding and loving fans in the world. Some fan bases can be spicy. Mine are just a bunch of lovers."
Jennifer went on to reveal that she'd sacrificed her tour during her turmoil to receive the full support she needed from her family.
"I was so devastated to let anybody down, but I just needed to be with my kids and myself and really dig down deep into things that were happening in my life. "And I’m glad I did, because it was a really difficult time for me.

"Probably the hardest time of my life, but it was also the best time because I got to do that work on myself."
Elsewhere in the interview, the singer emphasised the importance of keeping up a good relationship with yourself amid turmoil in your love life.
"You have to be good on your own. I thought I learned that, but I didn’t. And then, this summer, I had to be like, 'I need to go off and be on my own. I want to prove to myself that I can do that'."

Admitting that the process was 'f*cking hard', the 'On The Floor' singer added: "It feels lonely, unfamiliar, scary. It feels sad. It feels desperate.
"But when you sit in those feelings and go, 'These things are not going to kill me', it’s like actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself."
She also went on to say that she hopes her failed relationships won't 'define her'.
"I can’t be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself," Jennifer continued. "I used to say I’m a happy person, but was still looking for something for somebody else to fill, and it’s just like, 'No, I’m actually good'."
