Mel Gibson has toured the remains of his California home just days after making an 'insane' theory about the wildfires which have devastated the area.
Yesterday (15 January) Gibson was seen entering his Malibu home for the first time since it burned down while he was filming Joe Rogan's podcast in Texas.
During the interview with Rogan, the 69-year-old actor explained that he wasn’t sure whether his home would still be standing by the time they wrapped up the episode.

Sadly, this was true, and his property was left in ruins.
Now, Gibson joins a long list of civilians and celebrities who no longer have a home.
In an emotional interview on NewsNation’s Elizabeth Vargas Reports, he said (via the BBC): "Obviously, it’s kind of devastating. It’s emotional. I was doing the Rogan podcast… And [I was] kind of ill at ease while we were talking, because I knew my neighbourhood was on fire, so I thought, I wonder if my place is still there.

"But when I got home, sure enough, it wasn’t there. I went home and I said to myself, well, at least I haven’t got any of those pesky plumbing problems anymore.
"I had a lot of personal things there that, you know, I can’t get back."
After taking a ride with the fire department and a NewsNation correspondent on Wednesday, Gibson revealed that he was just happy to have his family safe.
According to TMZ, during a trip to his former home the star was seen leaving with just one thing - something that looked to be an end table.

Gibson had previously surprised fans by coming out with a conspiracy theory that the fires were started 'on purpose'.
In a theory he himself dubbed 'insane', the actor told Fox News: "I know they were messing with the water, letting reserves go for one reason or another. They’ve been doing that a while.
"California has a lot of problems that sort of baffle the mind as far as why they do things."

He continued: "I can make all kinds of horrible theories up in my head, conspiracy theories and everything else, but it just seemed a little convenient that there was no water.
"And that the wind conditions were right and that there are people ready and willing and able to start fires.
"And are they commissioned to do so or acting on their own volition? I don’t know.
"But they seem pretty well equipped these people that they are catching."

While Heidi Montag - who also lost her family home - took her children’s teddy bears in her panic, Gibson’s furniture piece was seemingly his priority now that the majority of his home was ash.
Alongside Gibson, Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal, Eugene Levy, Miles Teller, John Goodman, Anna Faris, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester also lost their homes.
Thousands of residents have lost their properties and sources of income due to the blaze, which continues to rage on.
