Liam Neeson fans have been left well and truly shocked after finding out his real age.
Neeson, who has a decade-spanning career featuring several blockbuster smash-hits including Taken, Love Actually, Schindler's List and Gangs of New York, has most recently worked alongside Pamela Anderson in his upcoming project, The Naked Gun.
However, the next one of his works to hit cinemas just next month is the action-packed crime-thriller, Absolution.

Check out the official trailer here:
The film in question follows an ageing gangster who attempts to reconnect with his children and rectify the mistakes in his past - however, it's clear that the seedy underbelly of the criminal world won't let him go that easily.
Absolution's director, Hans Petter Moland, who also directed Neeson in Cold Pursuit back in 2019, praised the Oscar-nominated star for his ability to bring such an authentic sense of humanity to such action-packed roles.

"When he’s immersed in the character he is, you see the hurt, you see the pain," Moland explained.
"He becomes that man."
With that said, however, it seems as if the decorated Northern Irish-American actor is looking to retire soon now that he's well into his early-70s.

Speaking in a recent interview with People, the A-lister revealed: "I’m 72, it has to stop at some stage."
Neeson, who still performs his own fight scenes but is helped by Mark Vanselow for the more intricate stunts, added: "You can’t fool audiences. I don’t want Mark to be fighting my fight scenes for me."
He also shared the date he's thinking of hanging up his boots from Hollywood once and for all: "Maybe the end of next year. I think that's it."

"He is 72?" asked one astonished X user.
A second hit out: "There’s no way he is 72."
"Also, had NO idea he was 72 the guy still looks like he’s 50!" quipped a third.

A fourth chirped: "Proving age is just a number."
"Woah! Didn’t realise he was 72, echoed another while a final X user added: "Wow I did not realize he is 72. I wish I looked half that good and I'm 57."
Drop the skincare routine, Liam!
