Liam Payne was seen posting on social media just one hour before his death, having said he was having a 'lovely day' in Argentina.
According to local police, the One Direction star died after falling from the third floor of his hotel room.
Officials said he was staying at CasaSur in Palermo, Buenos Aires.

Just one hour before he died, a post was shared to his Snapchat, with a video of Payne telling his fans about plans for the day.
He said: "Today, we ride. We're going to ride some horses.
"Think I'm going to play polo again, which is going to put me out of action for about six weeks.
"It's so hard to do, number one, my back and my neck from swinging that hammer around... or mallet, I think it's called if you're in the know. It hurts a lot, it's very tough to do."

Many fans pointed out that the posts may have been scheduled, with the singer's girlfriend Kate Cassidy had posted a TikTok video about travelling back to Florida from Argentina two days ago.
Four days ago, she had also shared a 'catch up' post of photos on TikTok, including pictures of her horse-riding.

According to PA, Alberto Crescenti, head of the state emergency medical system, said on Argentina’s Todo Noticias TV channel that Payne fell into the courtyard of the Casa Sur Hotel in the Palermo neighbourhood of Buenos Aires.
Crescenti declined to answer further questions about the reported incident.
Payne, who was in Argentina to attend a show of former bandmate Niall Horan earlier this month (2 October), rose to fame after appearing on the X Factor back in 2010 when the group was formed.

Payne and Horan were also joined by the likes of Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik in the band with the biggest hits including 'What Makes You Beautiful', 'Kiss You', 'Night Changes' and 'Best Song Ever'.
The band officially broke up in 2016.
Although the band finished in third place, they went on to become one of the best-selling boy groups of all time before officially breaking up in 2016 after selling more than 70 million records worldwide.
Others accolades for One Direction include six Billboard Music Awards, seven Brit Awards, seven American Music Awards and a staggering 28 Teen Choice Awards.

Payne previously dated X Factor judge, Cheryl Cole, having welcomed a son named Bear together back in March 2017.
