Lily Allen has explained exactly why she shared bombshell revelations about hiring sex workers on tour.
The British pop icon first opened up about paying for sex back in her 2018 memoir, My Thoughts Exactly.
And now, in the latest episode of her podcast, Lily has addressed the matter once again and explained why she was eager to use her platform to 'normalise' things others may feel ashamed about.
"She was expensive," Lily wrote in the memoir talking about the sex worker. "High-class hookers are. I didn’t care. I just wanted her to help me feel something.”

The 39-year-old 'Smile' singer has since delved into the situation some more while chatting to her long-time friend, Miquita Oliver, on the BBC Miss Me? podcast.
She began: "During the breakdown of my last marriage, I was very promiscuous and experimental, and I… had sex with female prostitutes," before correcting herself to say 'sex workers'.
Lily, who is now married to American actor David Harbour, said that she wrote about the experience back in 2018 because she lived in a state of 'perpetual fear' that she was about to be 'gotcha’d' by the tabloid press, while being in the midst of a split from her first husband, Sam Cooper.

Continuing on the podcast, Lily added: "I knew that this thing existed and that I’d been behaving this way, and I thought that was going to be revealed, so I thought I’d take a bit of the power back and reveal it myself [in My Thoughts Exactly]."
The mum-of-two went on to explain that she also believes 'lots of other people' share the same experiences as her and that sharing her own similar experiences can help make 'people feel better about themselves'.
"To me, that’s what art is. Helping people to come to terms with their own behaviour and behaviour that society sometimes comes down on, but we’re all just human," she added.

Lily also previously shared the NSFW reason why she wants to be buried with her phone when she dies.
During an appearance on Kathy Burke’s Where There’s A Will, There’s A Wake podcast, she explained how she plans to leave 'everything' to her two daughters when she dies.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Lily revealed that she wants to be surrounded by Apple products when she is eventually laid to rest.
She told the comedian: "Probably my phone, my Google search history, my porn search history - Saturday night when the kids are at their dad’s and my husband’s not at home, that porn trajectory.

"It always starts quite unassuming, maybe a bit of shoplifting, security guard, that kind of thing.
"And then it gets kind of dark. We'll leave it at that because I really don't want anyone to know!"
Lily added: "Put it in my fancy coffin. All of my Apple devices as well, my body's not even in there, it's just full of devices!"
