Lisa Rinna has shared terrifying details from the time her mother was 'brutally attacked' by an infamous serial killer, an encounter that almost killed her.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star opened up about the horrifying incident in a recent episode of her Let's Not Talk About The Husband podcast, which she hosts alongside husband Harry Hamlin.
She shared: "My mum, when she was 30 years old, was brutally attacked by a serial killer. We didn’t know he was a serial killer at the time, but he turned out to be a serial killer."

David Carpenter, who went on to become known as 'The Trailside Killer', was a colleague of Lisa's mum Lois - who died aged 93 in 2021.
"She worked with him. He stuttered, so she felt sorry for him but was always nice to him. Here’s what happened. She was at the bus stop. They lived in San Francisco. She didn’t have a car so she took the bus, and she was going to the dentist in the morning," Lisa said.
"David Carpenter drives up and says, 'Hi, Lois, can I give you a ride? I’d love for you to come see my new baby'. He had a baby. He was married!"

Lois initially declined the offer but eventually relented when he wouldn't take no for an answer.
She soon realised something was seriously wrong when Carpenter started talking to her without a stutter.
The RHOBH star continued: "She said, 'David, what’s going on?' He said, 'I don’t know, Lois. Sometimes, something funny comes over me'. And she knew she was f***ing cooked."

Carpenter then drove Lois to a deserted road and attacked her.
"He straddles my mum, my mom’s in the passenger seat, grabs a knife out of the glove box - all of a sudden he goes at her with a knife.
"She grabs it with her hand, so the knife’s coming at you and she grabs it, so she slices her two fingers, so they’re, like, dangling."
Lisa said he also hit her mum on the head with a hammer at least five times.

Luckily, as Carpenter was attacking Lois, a military policeman started coming up the road and shot him in the stomach.
Lisa's mum spent three months in hospital recovering from the 1960 attack while Carpenter spent seven years in prison for his crimes.
Then, two decades later, he began his killing spree and was eventually convicted of seven murders. He was also confirmed to be the killer in an eighth murder and suspected of two further killings.

When the Trailside Killer was on trial, Lois testified against him in court and Lisa went to watch.
Describing coming face-to-face with the man who almost killer her mother, Lisa said: "[It] was freaky. I saw him! It was really f***ing trippy."
