It can be difficult not to compare our appearances to that of Hollywood celebrities we see on the big screen.
But with access to the world's most expensive skincare products, the most elite of make-up artists, prestigious nutritionists, personal trainers and - in some cases - the best performing cosmetic surgeons, is it any wonder these stars look so good?
But, there are a handful of A-listers who have been using their huge platforms in recent months to emphasise the beauty in toned-down, makeup-free looks.
Fans of Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown are this week heaping praise onto the actor for appearing cosmetic-free for a catch-up with TV presenter Drew Barrymore.

The 20-year-old star - who last year announced her engagement to long-term boyfriend Jake Bongiovi - was seen donning an oversized purple sweatshirt with a layered pearl necklace, diamond earrings and a messy bun hairstyle.
But what really got viewers talking was the fact that the British star opted to go entirely makeup-free - and even sported a pimple patch on her cheek.
And after a clip from the interview with 50 First Dates star Drew was posted to social media, thousands of viewers gushed over Millie's natural appearance, with many noting how refreshing it is to see a big-name star loving the skin they're in.

"Love that she's so comfortable going without makeup. Makeup or not she's beautiful but you don't see many celebs on tv fresh faced like that," one wrote on YouTube.
Another penned: "People should normalize going to interviews without makeup. I love seeing their true face."
"We needed her to do this to show young girls that you dont need makeup," a third went on.
"Millie is amazing, we need more rolemodels like this!" another continued.

Just last year, Baywatch icon Pamela Anderson shocked the beauty industry by rocking up to Paris Fashion Week totally makeup-free.
Spectators were delighted to see the on-screen sensation flaunting her gorgeous glowing skin, and when it came to why she chose to go au natural for the celebrity soiree, she candidly told press that the experience was 'freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious, too'.
"I did notice that there were all these people doing big makeup looks, and it’s just like me to go against the grain and do the opposite of what everyone’s doing," Pamela, 56, explained.
