Paris Hilton ‘changes voice’ half-way through speech and fans are convinced they know which is ‘real’

Paris Hilton ‘changes voice’ half-way through speech and fans are convinced they know which is ‘real’

Fans were confused by Paris Hilton's 'voice change'

Paris Hilton exposed her ‘real’ tone of voice after switching up her ‘baby voice’ half-way through a speech recently, leaving fans gob-smacked.

It seems as though a fair few celebs are letting their ‘real’ voices slip recently - first we had Ariana Grande, and now Paris Hilton.

During a heartfelt speech to the US Congress about child abuse - something the socialite says she experienced herself during her time at a youth facility as a teenager - viewers noticed how her iconic ‘baby voice’ changed to her alleged ‘real’ voice. Take a look:

Paris, who rose to fame through her noughties TV series The Simple Life, was calling for change to youth treatment facilities while sharing her own traumatic experience of alleged abuse.

Fans claimed that the change in voice could have been because she wanted to be taken more ‘seriously’, given the nature of what she was discussing.

The first part of the clip heard the mum-of-two complimenting someone's jacket in her famous high-pitched voice, noting that the ‘sparkles were amazing’.

After a small interaction, she laughed and then quickly switched to a much more serious version of herself, where she began to give her speech.

She said in a much deeper and more natural voice: “I think the most important thing is that they need access to therapy counselling, mentorship, and other community-based programmes.”

Fans couldn’t believe the difference in the tone of her voice, but some pointed out that she was well aware of what she was doing.

Posting on X, one said: “Paris Hilton has always been an intelligent woman. Her ‘spoiled blonde’ persona is what she has been profiting off. The real her is reflected in the second voice.”

Another said: “Many people have a persona voice and a maskless voice. Both are you, each amplified differently.

“Think of artists/public figures, etc. This is not as weird as people make it out to be.”

Another person noted that it wasn’t just her voice that had changed, saying: “Her facial expression transitioned to serious mode too.”

But Paris hasn’t actually made a secret of the fact she has used a persona throughout her career.

Speaking openly about it in an interview with Sunrise, she said: “I’m not a dumb blonde - I’m just really good at pretending to be one.”

Alison Hammond even brought it up during an interview on This Morning.

Referring to her ‘character’ on The Simple Life, she said: “This is my real voice, that was a character. For a long time, people have misunderstood and underestimated me, but I can understand…playing that character.

“Of course, they were going to assume otherwise.”
