Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris has shared heartbreaking footage after speaking out on her heroin addiction for the very first time.
Earlier this week (7 January) the 26-year-old 'let down' singer took to Instagram where she shared a 'snapshot' of her recovery journey after explaining she had been dependent on both alcohol and heroin in the past.

She captioned the post: "Hi, I’m pk and I’m an alcoholic and a heroin addict.
"Today marks 5 years clean & sober from all drugs and alcohol. To say that I’m thankful would be a poor euphemism. Gratitude hardly scratches the surface."
Paris, who is the only daughter of the late 'Billie Jean' singer, continued: "It’s because I’m sober that I get to smile today. I get to make music. I get to experience the joy of loving my dogs and cat. I get to feel heartbreak in all it’s glory. I get to grieve. I get to laugh. I get to dance. I get to trust.

"I feel the sun on my skin and it’s warm. I’ve found that life keeps happening regardless of whether I’m sober or not, but today I get to show up for it.
"Here’s a little snapshot of what has been possible because of my sobriety, and my god I can’t believe I almost missed it all."
The clip in question showed numerous instances of Paris smoking and drinking, while other shots saw her crying with her head in her hands as she battled her relationship with drugs and alcohol.

Another video saw the singer clearly in distress as she curled up in a ball, her hands covering her face while a friend attempted to comfort her by gently stroking her hair.
But in the second half of the clip, Paris shared a series of snaps of her numerous sobriety chips, celebrating different milestones, including her one-day, six-month, one-year and five-year sobriety anniversaries.
The video then transitions into Paris' life after becoming sober, with clips of her laughing and joking with loved ones.
