Sam Thompson claimed joining the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! line-up could have implicated him as a ‘bad boyfriend’.
On Monday, (13 November) ITV announced ten celebrities who would be heading to Australia to battle it out to become King or Queen of the jungle.
Thompson, a presenter on Hits Radio and former cast member of Made In Chelsea, was one of the names revealed, alongside Nigel Farage, Britney Spears’ sister Jamie-Lynn Spears, and JLS’ Marvin Humes.

However, the 31-year-old revealed that he was feeling slightly guilty about leaving behind his girlfriend, Zara McDermott, who has been competing in Strictly Come Dancing.
Late last month, the Love Island star and her professional dancer partner Graziano Di Prima were eliminated from the show after losing the dance off to Waterloo Road’s Adam Thomas.
Thompson, who has been supporting 26-year-old McDermott through the BBC competition, opened up about his upcoming I’m A Celeb… stint with Fleur East and James Barr.

Speaking to the Hits Radio Breakfast hosts, he said: “When they asked [me to go into the jungle] I did think, if Zara was still on Strictly would I be a bad boyfriend if I went – but then decided I had to!
“As it turns out she’s tapping out of Strictly just as I’m tapping in.”
However, as McDermott was still competing for the Glitterball Trophy when Thompson got the call, he opted not to bring her to Australia with him.

“I tried to go camping recently but I had to go home at 10pm. I was too cold! But I am so excited about taking part in I’m A Celebrity, it still feels like a dream.
“I feel like a competition winner taking part. It was an absolute resounding ‘yes’ when I got approached. They didn’t even need to ask! I am a huge fan of the show.”
Thompson is expected to make his I'm A Celeb debut on Sunday evening alongside This Morning's Josie Gibson, food critic Grace Dent, former EastEnders star Danielle Harold and Hollyoaks actor Nick Pickard,
