Selena Gomez's ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner has rushed to her defence following an avalanche of body-shaming trolls attacking her online.
Whether it's about her current relationship with fiancé Benny Blanco, her previous relationship with Justin Bieber, her health or her appearance, it's clear Gomez, 32, is no stranger to relentless online trolling.
And the latest onslaught of abuse she's been the recipient of on social media is all to do with her figure, with Lautner rushing to Instagram to call out such keyboard crusaders who have taken major issue with the Emilia Pérez actress' recent weight loss.
Gomez attended the SAG Awards on Sunday (23 February) where she won the gong for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, for Only Murders in the Building.

However, instead of championing the star's successes, some people took it upon themselves to accuse the 'Fetish' singer of using Ozempic after noticing that, compared to 12 months ago, she was slimmer.

While Gomez hasn't personally responded to the trolls, Lautner now has rushed to Instagram to do so.
He shared a side-by-side post of Gomez at the 2024 SAG Awards and another image of her at the same awards show in 2025 which included screenshots of the vicious and contradictory comments made about her online.

In the 2024 snap, such comments included 'really not to be mean but it's time for Ozempic', 'I remember when she used to be hot', 'oh she big big' and 'she's an absolute unit'.
The 2025 photo, however, included the comments 'she caved and got on Ozempic I see', 'she looked better thicc', 'skinnier isn't prettier here's the proof keep your curves' and 'she was a whale a couple of weeks ago it's magic'.

The 33-year-old Twilight star captioned the image: "It's a cruel world full of hate out there. You can never please everyone nor should you have to. In my experience it doesn't make the words sting less, it just refocuses you onto what matters.

"And it sure isn't the shape, colour or appearance of your body."
Lautner then shared a 'daily reminder' for his followers to 'not forget how beautiful you are inside and out' before adding: "... and to be little bit nicer."
He soundtracked the story post with Gomez’s hit 2011 track 'Who Says' with lyrics that go: "I'm no beauty queen, I'm just beautiful me" and "Who says, who says you're not perfect?
Gomez and Lautner briefly dated back in 2009.

It's not the first time Lautner has spoke out about body shamers either, as he told The Squeeze podcast in 2023: “Don't think just because you lose the 20 lbs or put on the muscle, you're going to wake up and look in the mirror and all of a sudden be happy.
"That's not where you should be finding value."
