Sharon Osbourne shares concerning Ozzy Osbourne health update after being advised ‘not to travel’

Sharon Osbourne shares concerning Ozzy Osbourne health update after being advised ‘not to travel’

Sharon and Ozzy have unfortunately cancelled their scheduled appearance at Arizona's Mad Monster Party

Sharon Osbourne has apologised to fans for cancelling a family appearance while sharing a worrying health update about husband Ozzy.

The X Factor icon Sharon, 71, and her family were due to make an appearance at the horror and sci-fi convention Mad Monster Party in Phoenix, Arizona, next month.

The Osbourne meet and greet tickets were being sold at the event for a staggering $666 (£525), but Sharon has sadly announced that the legendary couple will not be there.

Fans are naturally disappointed by the statement, but Sharon reassured that ticket holders can be granted a refund if they wish.

Sharon noted that Ozzy had been advised ‘not to travel’ by medics.

In a heartfelt statement on X, she said: “Regretfully, the Osbourne family have to cancel our upcoming appearance at the Mad Monster Party in Phoenix because Ozzy is unable to travel at this time.

“However Jack will be there flying the flag for the Osbournes. Everybody who bought the Osbourne package will of course get full refunds.

"We would like to thank you all for your constant support with Ozzy. It means so much to him, you have no idea.

“All I can do is apologise that we won't be there and I'm apologising to the people we've let down from my heart. So, God bless you all. Thank you so much.”

Fans in the comments were mostly supportive of the struggles the family were facing.

One replied to the statement, saying: “Anyone who is let down by someone who has an illness they can’t truly control, ought to be held up to that same pressure Sharon that you’re all under.”

Another said: “Love to you Sharon and to Ozzy! All that matters is that the both of you take care of yourselves the best that you can.”

Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019, which has caused him to suffer nerve pain, depression, blood clots and mobility issues.

Last year, the Black Sabbath frontman underwent a series of operations after a fall from the toilet dislodged the metal rods in his back that had been put in place after a quad bike crash in 2003.

Talking about his condition to The Sun at the time, he said: “I’ll take one day at a time because I can’t make that much of a plan. Whatever I plan gets changed. I can’t travel yet.”
