"There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children."
Since then, Turner, 28, has addressed her split from the musician - with whom she shares her two daughters, Willa and Delphine - telling Vogue that 'those were the worst few days of my life'.
And recently, Turner has opened up further about her and the Camp Rock star's relationship as part of an interview with Harper's Bazaar magazine.

The mother-of-two firstly reiterated that she can't delve into too much detail over the break-down of her marriage.
"I’m going through a legal process right now where I can’t really say much, but it was incredibly sad," she told the publication.
"We had a beautiful relationship, and it was hard."
What she did say, though, is that she's over the moon to be back on her home soil.

"I’m so happy to be back," she opened up about her move, revealing she has since made a home for her and her two children in West London.
"It felt as if my life was on pause until I returned to England. I just never really feel like myself when I’m not in London, with my friends and family."
She added: "I was away for so long – six years – and it was when my friends were getting engaged, and when I got pregnant.

"I went for dinner with someone the other day, and she said, 'I never got to touch your belly.'
"We didn’t have those key experiences with each other."
Turner spent the majority of the last decade in the States, living firstly in Miami with Jonas before the duo welcomed their two children on the East Coast, before deciding on Miami as the perfect place to raise their two daughters.
Only now, however, has Turner - who has also starred in ITV's latest series Joan recently - admitted that she battled frequently homesickness.

"Every city we ended up in, the first thing I’d do was find a British shop and stock up on a month’s worth of chocolate," she told the outlet.
In amid the nostalgia, however, she says that her final decision to leave the US was prompted by a surge in hostile politics.
"The gun violence, Roe v Wade being overturned..." she explained. "Everything just kind of piled on.
"After the Uvalde [school] shooting, I knew it was time to get the f**k out of there."
Despite having found her home back in London, the star did confess that she often stays with friends when her children are away visiting their father in US.
Describing being without her kids as 'absolute agony', she also discussed everything she's learned as a mother, claiming the experience as having 'changed me so much in every way'.
"Before I had kids, I was very depressed and anxious," Turner admitted. "And I would isolate [myself] a lot. Now, I think I live my life for them.
"I want them to see me having a social life and enjoying work and thriving in my career and relationships.
"I want them to see a hard-working mum. I’ll come back and say, 'This is why Mummy was away – it’s because she’s doing this for you, so Father Christmas can come with a big bundle of presents.'"
