Taylor Swift's astronomically large Eras tour, which began in March last year and came to a close last night (8 Dec), was comprised of 149 shows and spanned five continents and 50 cities.
Global megastar Swift, who pivoted from country music to pop and released her album 'The Tortured Poet's Department' in April 2024, has broken records as a result of the tour.
Every night that Swift performed, many of her fans, 'Swifties', turned up dressed as one of her 11 'Eras,' aka her albums - including 'Midnights', 'Reputation' and '1989'.

The tour was first announced in 2022, with Swift tweeting that it was set to be 'a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!)', which certainly delivered and then some.
Swift has broken the record for the amount of revenue made in a single tour as a result of the Eras tour, which wrapped last night (8 December) in Vancouver.
As she wrapped up her final show, she called the tour 'the adventure of a lifetime' and the 'most thrilling chapter of my entire life to date', Sky News reports.

As per Forbes, the Eras tour made at least $2 billion. In 2023, the US leg grossed about $1.04 billion and according to figures from October 2024, the international stops grossed $1.15 billion.
The Guardian further reports that following the tour's last stop in Vancouver, Swift's company, Taylor Swift Touring, revealed the revenue was $2,077,618,725 (£1.62bn).
This, according to the outlet, has outshone any previous record for a completed tour, namely Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, which lasted from 2018 to 2023.
Tickets for Swift's shows averaged at $204 each (£159.64) - a high price but clearly one people are willing to pay.

The singer also performed for approximately three and a half hours during each Eras tour show, singing 46 songs from her career.
Ona particular highlight from the Eras tour was when Swift's boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce, joined her on stage on 23 June in London.
After Swift had finished performing 'The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,' Kelce appeared on stage in a suit and tie and pretended to 'wake' a sleeping Swift.

He mimicked talking to her and applying blush to her face to rouse her, before she eventually 'woke up' and performed 'I Can Do It With a Broken Heart'.
During an episode of his New Heights podcast, Kelce explained the shock appearance.
He said: “I initially mentioned it to Tay but was like, ‘How funny would it be if I rolled out on one of the bikes for the 1989 era?’”
“She started laughing and was like, ‘Would you seriously be up for doing something like that?’”

He continued: “I was just like, ‘What? I would love to do that, are you kidding me?’ I’ve seen the show enough. Might as well put me to work here.”
