Taylor Swift fans left 'crying' after paying 'over £600' on tickets for ‘outrageous’ seats

Taylor Swift fans left 'crying' after paying 'over £600' on tickets for ‘outrageous’ seats

Taylor Swift began the UK leg of her Eras tour last week

After months of anticipation from millions of British fans, Taylor Swift finally landed on UK soil last week to begin yet another leg of her Eras tour.

Despite the initial excitement, however, a large handful of concert attendees have been left crushed after some claimed the tickets they forked out hundreds of hard-earned pounds for only bought them poor seats with restricted views.

Swift began her string of transatlantic concerts in the Scottish capital of Edinburgh last week before heading down to Liverpool, where she sold out the mighty Anfield Stadium last night, and where she's set to do the same again today.

From then, the 34-year-old will entertain her UK 'Swifties' in both Cardiff and London, before heading across to Dublin for three night, and jetting across to our visit some of our European neighbours.

Now, it's a well known fact that concert ticket prices have colossally rocketed in recent years - as have the cost of their accompaniments, like merchandise and food and drink at the stadium.

And with a star as globally-renowned and critically-acclaimed as Taylor - who has a staggering 11 studio albums and 274 songs under her belt - it's really no surprise that her Eras tour tickets were some of the most in-demand in musical history.

Not only were the tickets nigh-impossible to get through distribution companies in the first place, but when they went onto second-hand sale sites, many were subsequently sold for indisputably extortionate prices.

You'd imagine, however, that for many die hard 'Swifties' out there, money is no object when it comes to seeing your favourite musician perform their chart-topping bangers in the flesh.

But for one batch of Taylor Swift fanatics, this couldn't possibly be further from the truth.

Taking to TikTok, Swiftie Zella - who attended last night's show at Liverpool Football Club's ground claimed they'd handed over a jaw-dropping £600 for their tickets.

Showing the view from the seats they'd been given, however, they felt brutally mis-sold.

"Paid £660 for VIP seats and this is our view," they told their followers. "We asked and they won't move us."

Whilst the clip showed the group sitting within the first few rows of the lower balcony - which normally would have presented a near-perfect view of the stage and walkway into the crowd - their view was totally obstructed by a large block of sound equipment.

"Actually going to cry," the video was captioned.

After a viewer in the comments suggested they speak once again to a member of staff, they replied: "We tried that and they said the whole show was sold out so there's nowhere to move us to."

And after another social media insisted that the seats weren't actually part of the VIP deal, a third hit back: "You weren’t told your view would be restricted that’s the whole point! It’s terrible they have done this to sooo many people!!"

The concert attendee then agreed: "No exactly, I didn't pay £660 for a tote bag and some posters, I get that's part of it but the majority of that money is for a good or at least non obstructed seat!!"

The story, however, has a happy ending.

Zella later posted an updated revealing she'd been given press seats.

She said in the caption: "We basically harassed the stewards until they let us into the press seats. Thank u to the amazing stewards who helped us out!! saved our night!!"

Tyla contacted concert promotor AEG for comment.
