Timothée Chalamet's controversial speech at the SAG Awards has got people divided, after the star admitted his acceptance wasn't 'classy'.
Celebrities gathered at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles last night (23 February), for yet another night celebrating their greatness.
In February alone we have had the Grammys, the BAFTAs, and last night saw actors and actresses gather for the prestigious SAG Awards.

Timothée Chalamet, this time without girlfriend Kylie Jenner by his side, was among those who accepted a trophy for his work, receiving the award for Best Male Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture.

When the winner was announced, the star was initially shocked, but sort of quickly shrugged off his win.
As he approached the stage for his acceptance speech, he admitted it wouldn't be the 'classiest thing' that the audience had witnessed.

Chalamet said: "I know the classiest thing would be to downplay the effort that went into this role, and how much this means to me.
"But the truth is, I'm really in pursuit of greatness."
He gave special mention to those who inspired him, as he added: "I know people don't usually talk like that, but I want to be one of the greats, I'm inspired by the greats.
"I'm inspired by the greats here tonight.
"I'm as inspired by Daniel Day Lewis, Marlon Brando and Viola Davis, as I am by Michael Jordan and Michael Phelps. And I want to be up there.

"So I'm deeply grateful to that."
But fans were divided by the speech, as he concluded saying: "This doesn't signify that but it's a little more fuel, it's a little more ammo to keep going.
"Thank you so much."

Users online were conflicted by whether it truly displayed a sense of gratitude or not.
One said: "Hot take - this is actually refreshing to see - it’s honesty, integrity toward a goal, not (in many cases) performative humility."
But another disagreed, and added: "Cringe - should’ve stayed humble, that’s the version we all loved."
However, another user believes the difference in mindset is generational - that the older generation like to play things down, while the younger generation champion people's successes.

They said: "It's fascinating these comments.
"Younger people find it to be excellent, and older people demand that we downplay our success and achievements for the benefit of others. Fascinating to observe."
"Humility is overrated and false humility is exhausting," another agreed.
