Travis Barker reveals his one regret about children when speaking out on leaked photo of son Rocky

Travis Barker reveals his one regret about children when speaking out on leaked photo of son Rocky

There's one thing Travis has decided to do differently this time round

Travis Barker has opened up about a huge regret he’s had as a parent, having been able to change his approach for youngest son Rocky after learning lessons the hard way.

Travis, 48, welcomed his son, Rocky, last year – his first child with wife Kourtney Kardashian, 45.

While Kourtney is also also mum to Mason, Penelope and Reign – who she shares with Scott Disick – Travis, 48, shares Alabama and Landon with ex Shannon Moakler, and has also reportedly remained close to stepdaughter Atiana.

In a new interview with the Wall Street Journal, Travis gave a glimpse into what his new family life looks like, saying he tries to have quality time with Rocky and Kourtney in the mornings.

“If I’m home, and not on tour, I wake up around 6:00 and walk for an hour,” he said.

“If Rocky is up, we’ll go for a walk outside; me, my wife and Rocky. Then I hit a workout right afterward.”

There’s no room for breakfast, though, as it’s a meal Travis doesn’t do.

“I don’t eat breakfast,” he explained.

“After my workout, I do a proper protein shake. I like frozen fruit - like blackberries, blueberries, strawberries - and avocado, coconut water, a dash of cinnamon, maca, a half a banana, a scoop of almond butter and plant-based protein, Vega.”

He added: “I gave up on smoking, drinking and doing drugs years ago. My new addiction is running. I run three miles every day.”

When Rocky was born, Travis and Kourtney decided to keep their youngest child ‘out of the spotlight, having been famously tight-lipped about his arrival at first.

They’ve since posted a few snaps on social media of their youngest, but his face is always obscured – a choice, it turns out, is at least in part inspired by their previous parenting approach.

Commenting on a recent leak of a photo of Rocky, Travis said: “Unfortunately, someone finally got a photo of him, but we’d rather keep him out of the spotlight.

“If I could do everything different, I would have done the same thing with my [older] kids,” Travis continued.

“I think it’s weird to grow up and you’re 15 or 12, and you’re like, ‘Mom, you posted this of me?'”

While there may be some regrets, there are elements from his first stint of parenting that Travis should be proud of – including how it inspired him to be healthier, later setting up a running club called Run Travis Run.

“When I found out we were having Landon [Barker’s son with Shanna Moakler], who is now 20, I started running,” he said.

“I had this determination to be the best version of myself. I’ve never stopped since then. I jumped into a 5K one day and it was so fun to run with other people.

“So I started a run club and said, why don’t I run with whoever wants to run with me and raise money for charity. You motivate each other.”
