She wrote: “Many people are assuming my tweet yesterday was a Halloween costume. Not at all; last week I had a baby and nothing currently fits me except cloaks. Luckily, Only Connect is a pre-record. Happy All Saints Day.”
Victoria was inundated with messages saying ‘congratulations’ from fans, while many said she shouldn’t have to justify her clothing at all.
One X user wrote: “Congratulations to you and David. How exciting! But don't you think it is disappointing that you still have to justify your choice of clothing to a world obsessed with people's shapes!”

While someone else shared: "10/10 stars for not announcing the pregnancy, and then just casually mentioning you had a baby when someone asks about your costume. (Also congratulations! Hope it’s the kind that sleeps well)."
A third said: “Many congratulations to you all. And here’s to your cloak wearing era.”
And on the subject of cloaks, someone else penned: “Congratulations on the baby front. It's autumn: cloaks are in.”

A mum also defended Victoria’s outfit choice, writing: “Congratulations! Incidentally, I had a baby 28 years ago and have embraced cloaks ever since. So much easier than all that self denial and gym - going to 'lose the baby weight'. Frankly I have neither the time nor inclination.”
Victoria and the Peep Show star, 49, also confirmed their newest arrival in a notice published in The Times.
The announcement read: “Mitchell on 26th October 2023 to Victoria and David, a daughter, June Violet sister to Barbara.”
The TV couple have a daughter named Barbara, who is now a big sister.

Victoria kept her pregnancy private until now, however she hinted at her upcoming maternity leave as she cryptically tweeted about taking a ‘little sabbatical’ away from her work as a TV host.
She explained in her TV column in The Telegraph that she had pre-recorded some shows, including Only Connect - and it’s only now that the dots are starting to connect!
“My TV column today is the last in a while - I'm taking a little sabbatical, though I HAVE recorded some TV shows for people to shout at in my absence. For my last pre-break column I've written about Blankety Blank and my new friend Lozza,” she wrote.
