Whoopi Goldberg's The View co-hosts — and viewers — were left with their jaws on the floor after the actor and comedian asked Alyssa Farah Griffin if there was a bun in the oven.
Whoopi, 67, has co-hosted and moderated the daytime talk show — in which a panel of women discuss current sociopolitical and entertainment news — since 2007.
Watch the chaos unfold below:
In 2009, she won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host for her work on the programme alongside her then co-hosts Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd, Elisabeth Hasselback and Barbara Walters.

During Thursday's show, the panel of women were were discussing Mitt Romney's decision not to run for re-election in 2024 and the direction of the Republican party when, about two minutes in, Whoopi asked the rather personal question.
Following a speech about how the Republican party has long disregarded minorities, she turned the Alyssa and asked point blank, "Are you pregnant?".
Alyssa, 34, let out an audible gasp and looked visibly shocked before quickly shutting down the speculation.

"No! Oh my God!" she laughed. "You can't say that while my mother-in-law is here! She’s been dying for me to get pregnant."
"I just got a vibe," Whoopi replied. "I’m so sorry! It just… it was just…"
"Please say it's not my tummy!" Alyssa said, adding: "I’m very open to being pregnant soon. I am not blessed to be pregnant yet, but my husband and I are thinking about it."
"Forgive me," Whoopi returned. "I see a glow."

"I'll take a test when I get home just to be sure," Alyssa promised, before the conversation swiftly turned back to politics.
Viewers were left shocked after the outburst, with many branding it inappropriate.

A second added: "Can we normalize not asking people if they are pregnant? There are a variety of reasons someone might not want anyone to know if they are or are not pregnant.
"If people want you to know if they are or are not pregnant they will tell you."
Another person wrote, "You just don't ask someone if they are pregnant and on live tv!"
Others seemed to see the funny side of the situation, though.

"I’m still laughing because this was so unhinged lmao," another added.
And a third joked, "If an older woman asks you if you are pregnant, get a test asap coz there is a 99% chance that you are. They know these things."
