Love Island's Maya Jama left in tears after explosive Casa Amor recoupling

Love Island's Maya Jama left in tears after explosive Casa Amor recoupling

The 2024 islanders have been separated for three nights to have their relationships put to the test

It's only a matter of hours before Love Island's latest - and most eagerly-anticipated - recoupling lands on our TV screens after the 2024 cast was hit by the annual Casa Amor interim.

And by the looks of a newly-released snap of ITV presenter Maya Jama from tonight's instalment, we're going to need the issues close to hand.

That's right, after three nights of back-stabbing, bed-sharing and lip-locking chaos, this year's girls and boys will decide tonight whether they want to stick with their original partner or whether they've formed a closer attachment to one of the new bombshells.

Screaming? Crying? Throwing up? Honestly, same.

Though Love Island producers haven't given too much away with what we should expect from tonight's high-drama recoupling ceremony, by the look of host Maya's facial expression, we're in for a hell of a ride.

That's because in the hotly-debated snap, the dating show's frontwoman can be seen shedding a tear, bringing her hand to her face in order to hide her emotion.

A source has since told the MailOnline of the presenter: "Maya feels connected to the Islanders... she struggled to hide her emotion during filming of the Casa Amor recoupling.

"It was tough for her to see the reaction from some of the girls, who were shocked to discover the level of betrayal demonstrated by their partner."

They continued: "Some of the couples had been together for a significant number of weeks so it was particularly painful for those to reunite under different circumstances.

"It was one of the most dramatic Love Island episodes ever filmed, so much so, bosses had to extend the show."

Throughout the duration of this week, we've seen Nicole and Ciaran - who dropped the L-bomb to one another just hours before being separated - absolutely heartbroken by the prospect of their other-half meeting someone new.

And Joey Essex and partner Jessie are the only other twosome to have remained faithful to one another (for now, that is...).

Meanwhile Uma and Mimii were rightly concerned about their status in the villa after hearing that their love interests Wil and Ayo have been smooching new girls Lucy and Jessica - though they themselves have remained loyal.

Sean - who was previously coupled up with Matilda - has also been playing away, last night sharing a kiss with new girl Diamanté.

By the sounds of things, however, Matilda won't be too saddened to hear, as she's recently set her sights on new Casa boy Hugo.

This means she's also been forced to compete with gal pal Jess, who also shares Hugo's affections after ditching Trey for him.

Trey, meanwhile, has spent the last three days snogging the face off new girl Ellie, because Jess who?

And when it comes to Grace, she's had her absolute pick of the bunch since ex-beau Joey sensationally pied her for new girl Jessie last week, and is seemingly torn between whether to bring back new boys Blade or Moziah.
