Love Island's Wil Anderson speaks out on shock dumping after viewers left fuming by Uma’s decision

Love Island's Wil Anderson speaks out on shock dumping after viewers left fuming by Uma’s decision

Love Island's Wil Anderson was dumped last night in a bombshell recoupling which saw him left single

Just hours after a nation of Love Island fans saw him brutally dumped from the villa following a jaw-dropping recoupling ceremony, Wil Anderson has spoken out.

It wasn't just the Geordie-born quantity surveyor axed during Tuesday evening's head-spinning instalment, however, after his partner Uma Jammeh also voluntarily quit the show in order to be with him.

The double Love Island exit aired last night, leaving hundreds of viewers in tears after Uma immediately declared 'I'm going to leave,' after Wil received that dreaded text.

Many viewers were furious at Uma for choosing to leave with Wil, particularly after he kissed Lucy in Casa Amor.

One writing: "I’m embarrassed for Uma. choosing to leave for WILL??!? Girl stand the f**k UP."

Another said: "Uma I’m trying to feel bad for you but you’re leaving for a man who was gonna recouple with another girl after 3 days."

Now, hours after the instalment aired, Wil has spoken out about his beau's decision to follow him out of the villa, as well as what he believes their future looks like.

Speaking to ITV producers, the controversial character admitted he 'couldn't be happier' that the couple departed the show hand-in-hand.

"I left with the girl I went in to get," he claimed. "She’s amazing and her leaving proves how much she likes me, so it’s the next step in our journey together."

The 23-year-old also insisted he was 'blown away' by Uma's decision.

"I had my eyes on her from before I went in there. We got talking and instantly I knew that was who I wanted, I didn’t even want to entertain anything with anyone else. She’s so mature and well spoken and is a proper woman.

"It went so well, but then obviously Casa came. I felt like I owed it to myself to explore, doing that caused a few issues but it made me realise I wanted a future with Uma."

Wil went on: "Coming back to the Villa wasn’t exactly easy and from then on it was about proving to her how I really felt. I feel like I tried to prove it in as many ways I could.

"I feel like what I did and said to her was enough for her to end her journey with me, it makes me feel amazing, I couldn’t be happier with the outcome to be honest.

"I’ve been in there for 3 and a half weeks and I’ve left with a girlfriend pretty much."
