Love Island Games fans were left cringing after an ‘awkward’ interview between Maura Higgins and her ex Curtis Pritchard following his departure from the show.
Curtis, 27 - the younger brother of Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard – appeared in the fifth series of UK Love Island, finishing fourth overall.
Curtis was coupled up with Amy Hart, soon becoming the show’s sweethearts... until he had his head turned by Maura, that is.

He and Maura split in March 2020, just seven months after hooking up on the series, but the pair were reunited this week as Curtis was booted from Love Island Games, which Maura’s been hosting.
During the exit interview, Maura grilled him on his time in the villa while also harking back to their relationship – at one point discussing whether or not Curtis snored - only for her to admit she can’t remember.
At the beginning of the discussion, as the cameras started rolling, Curtis broke the silence by casually asking: “How’s the family?”
Maura – who is currently dating Hollywood stuntman Bobby Holland Hanton - replied: “Good. Yeah, all good.”

Eventually, they got into the grittier stuff, with Maura asking why Curtis didn’t pick Justine in the recoupling, saying there was clearly ‘chemistry there’.
“Because I didn’t follow my balls!” Curtis responded. “I didn’t follow my gut. I wasn’t a strong man.”
Maura laughed: “He still has no balls, guys!”

Curtis then joked back: “And she would know!”
The awkwardness of Curtis having to be interviewed by his ex didn’t go unnoticed by fans, with one commenting online: “Curtis Pritchard got dumped 3rd on Love Island Games… Maura (his love island ex) is the spinoff show host… It’s about as awkward as you’d expect.”
Someone else said: “The interview we were all waiting for didn’t disappoint.”
A third wrote: “Getting interviewed by your ex is so funnyyyy.”

A fourth added: “THAT MAURA AND CURTIS INTERVIEW IS SO FUNNY.”
Even fellow Islander Eyal Booker was cringed out, saying on Instagram: “Well this is bl**dy awkward isn’t it.”
Curtis recently praised his ex for her new gig hosting the show.

Speaking on the Nikki and Brie Show, he said: “Yeah we did [bump into each other] to be fair actually.
“She did a great job on the show. But yeah, we did see each other, and we saw each other outside the villa as well after the whole programme was done.
“We bumped into each other and we did an after interview.
“We were all civil, it was good. I was asking how she is, how’s the family doing, how’s everything going and told her she looked good and [congratulated her] on the job she did on the show.
“It was civil. We bumped onto each other and it was nice to say hello actually.”
