Love Island fans are ‘demanding a recount’ after favourites Whitney and Lochan came second in last night’s finale, having just missed out to winners Jess and Sammy.
ITV really shook things up for season 10 of the popular reality dating show, hosted by Maya Jama, with Molly Marsh heading back into the villa after former islander Kady McDermott chose to couple up with Zach Noble when she made a surprise return - not to mention several brutal dumpings along the way.

By the eighth week, the contestants had been whittled down to Ella Thomas and Tyrique Hyde, Jess Harding and Sammy Root, Molly Marsh and Zach Noble, and Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki.
Along the way, Whitney and Lochan were widely praised on social media for their slow and steady approach to their relationship, taking it at their own pace and keeping it pretty private.
They proved to be continuously firm favourites among Twitter users, but many viewers were surprised last night when Jess and Sammy came out on top in the final, which is based on a public vote.

Some began demanding a recount, while others joked that the result was the ‘biggest robbery’ in the history of British TV.
One person wrote: “If they never told them that Whit and Loch were the most popular we would have had our winners. It was a fix.”
Someone else said: “I DEMAND A RECOUNT!!”

A third said: “Call Ofcom, call the police, call MI5, call the Prime Minister, call the King and Camilla up because we have just witnessed the biggest robbery in British history live on TV.”
A fourth added: “If they never told them that Whit and Loch were the most popular we would have had our winners. It was a fix."
Speaking of Jess and Sammy’s relationship, another commented: “He literally went round the villa screaming about how unattractive he finds her, they were bottom 3 multiple times and they won??? Nah this is the worst fix I've ever seen loooool.”

However, a spokesperson for ITV told Tyla that the show is ‘not fixed’, adding: “The winners were based on the outcome of a public vote.”
Jess and Sammy were crowed series 10 winners yesterday following something of a rocky ride throughout the season.
You’ll no doubt remember that Jess chose to stay single after Casa Amor, while Sammy brought back Amber Wise.

But despite getting to know other people and several shouting matches across the villa, Sammy finally popped the question and asked Jess to be his girlfriend with the help of his fellow islanders.
