Chappell Roan has admitted that she only recently found out what a ‘service top’ is.
Roan was discussing the NSFW phrase after the release of her latest single, country-pop mashup The Giver, ahead of a string of upcoming UK shows.
An exploration of gender and sexuality, Roan’s 'lesbian country song' was inspired by her upbringing in Missouri - but fans can't believe she didn't know what a 'service top' was until recently.

In a new episode of Mutuals Media’s TikTok series Gaydar with host and drag performer Anania, Roan was asked: “What is a service top and do you identify as one?”
In response, the American songstress admitted: “I did not know what a service top was until last week, but everyone thinks I know. B****, I don’t know what a service top is. I just have sex that feels good.”
Fans have gone wild over the guest appearance on social media with the clip racking up over 451,000 likes.

In the comments section, fans rushed to express their excitement over the star guest. One wrote, "We needed this!" Whilst another said, "I could watch a whole five hours of this."
Meanwhile, some fans are confused as to how Roan didn't know what a 'service top' is, as one asked: "How does she not know what a service top is when she literally wrote the service top anthem?"
So, what is a service top?
If you’re reading this and wondering what on earth Roan is talking about, then you're not alone.

In queer culture, a service top is someone who finds pleasure in their partner’s pleasure, both in and out of the bedroom.
Roan leans into this definition in The Giver, where the lyrics ‘she gets the job done’, come to life in the new music video. In the clip, she can be seen changing into different service uniforms, from dentist and construction worker to lawyer.
