Having premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on 9 September, the film was a huge hit with critics.
Having secured a 100% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, Moira Macdonald wrote for the Seattle Times: "Azazel Jacobs’ 'His Three Daughters' is one of those films that’s so intimate you feel like you’re in the room with the characters, breathing the same air."
The Netflix teaser reads: "Three sisters return to their father’s home to prepare for the worst; his health is failing and time is running out. As they wait at his bedside, old resentments rise to the surface, and the sisters’ relationships face new strains. Will their father’s imminent death bring them closer together — or push them apart for good?"
Ever since the trailer dropped, fans have been rushing to share their anticipation on social media.

Those who have seen it have piled on the praise - and confirmed it will make you cry.
One person wrote: "His Three Daughters is a film that doesn’t just play with realism but manages to recapture that very essence of human life in a medium that can often feel contrived. Coming to Netflix on Friday! Give it a watch but beware it might make you weep and cause weeks of introspection."
Another said: "HIS THREE DAUGHTERS made me weep. azazel jacobs’ sharp script gives way to excellent performances by natasha lyonne, carrie coon, and elizabeth olsen. i love it when a film gets sisters with complicated relationships right."
A third said: "I loved HIS THREE DAUGHTERS. if for nothing else, it made me think of my mom, as the youngest of her siblings, who recently had to go through the pain of losing her dad, and the emotional haymaker of going through that with the people you love and who may disappoint you the most."
