There's no denying that sometimes it can be fun to watch a purely nonsensical movie just for the sake of it.
There are enough Oppenheimer's and Moonlight-feel blockbusters out there for when you're in the mood to have your mind utterly blown by the stellar acting and tear-jerking cinematography.
But sometimes - especially after a long and arduous day at work - you want to pop your feet up and sink your teeth into a wild movie.

Well, you're in luck because a brand new shark-infested slasher movie has been added to Netflix, and fans are branding it downright 'bonkers'.
And honestly, just wait until you hear this plot.
Set in Paris this coming summer, a group of scientists - led by a grieving Sophia - discover that a colossal shark has found its way into the Seine River, just in time for the 'city of love' to host the World Triathlon Championships in the river.

Typical!
In order to avoid turning the water a gruesome shade of red, Sophia has no choice but to team up with Adil, the Seine's (rather hunky) river police commander.
If that perks your interest, you can watch the trailer for Under Paris here:
The only question - how does one remove a 20ft prehistoric beast from a pretty much landlocked European city?

It might sound like one big unrealistic cringe-extravaganza, but according to thousands of viewers, it pretty much measures up when it comes to shark movies - with one person calling it 'the greatest shark movie' since the illustrious OG monster hit, Jaws.
Now, that's high praise indeed.
"Under Paris is such a blast and absolutely rips from start to finish! Highly recommend if you’re a shark movie lover," one fan penned on social media.

While another couldn't get over the ending, writing: "Just watched the Under Paris shark movie via Netflix and most of it is just dumb fun but then HOLY S**T THAT ENDING!! Whaaaaaaaaaattttttt!!" as a third called the ending 'over the top in the best way'.
"Honestly can’t remember the last time I enjoyed a Netflix original this much.
Fun, slightly preposterous scenario, solid performances, ecological concerns and some genuinely awesome effects work. Also, the third act is properly bonkers." gushed a fourth.
A fifth said Under Paris 'is exactly what you expect', adding: "Characters make the stupidest decisions possible.

"However I cant help but to love this film based on shark action in the last 30 mins."
And someone else called it 'basically Jaws, but French'.
Pretty much.
