Following the drop of the eagerly-anticipated last series of Bridgerton last week, on-screen period-dramas have astronomically sky-rocketed in popularity.
It's true! Fans of Regency hits have been desperately scouring streaming services for their next fix.
Some period drama fanatics have spent the last few weeks losing their minds over a raunchy new Tudor drama called My Lady Jane.

Whilst others were left totally obsessed with a '10/10' series, which - surprisingly - was even hailed by some as being even 'better than Bridgerton'.
And when it comes to our assessment of these such shows, there are a number of staple elements to these productions that we see time and time again.
A huge-name cast, lavish costumes, plush locations, to name a few. Oh, and a LOT of sexiness.

Raunchy first kisses, hands-on carriage rides, getting up to no good in the servant's quarters - period drama fans have seen it all.
And luckily for you, they've actually made a rather x-rated suggestion of what you should rattle through next - if you're completely up to date with the goings-on within 'the Ton', that is...
Outlander has been a long-time favourite for Amazon Prime regulars since it first took to our screens 10 years ago.
And still, seven seasons and 83 episodes later, it remains a top pick for period drama fans, many of whom are only stumbling across it recently.

For those who haven't yet relished the chance to sink their teeth into this time travelling hit, I must admit, it would be nigh impossible to catch you up now.
But don't worry, we'll give you a little teaser about what could be in store.
Starring Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan, the series tells the story of World War II British Army nurse Claire Randall, who - during a trip to Scotland with her husband Frank - inadvertently travels back in time to the year 1743.

Confused and very far from home, she falls in with a group of rebels from the Scottish Highlands, who themselves are being pursued by a group of government troops, led by the infamously sadistic Captain Jonathan "Black Jack" Randall, who just so happens to be her husband Frank's ancestor.
With the knowledge that their rebellion will fail, she attempts to warn her new friends, and in doing so, is forced to marry a Highlander named Jamie who she ends up falling in love with (shock!).
How will the two of them prevent innocent lives from being lost, without Frank being wiped from history in the present day?
Anyone else got chills? I mean, it's the Doctor Who/Downton Abbey collaboration we never knew we needed!

But don't just take our word for it, and hundreds of fans have taken to social media to express their delight.
"Everyone on here should watch Outlander. Now that is sexual chemistry. Off the charts," one gushed this week.
Another went on: "Outstanding show and have watched it so many times!"
A third continued: "YES, YES and YES! This show is superb! Every time a new season comes out I binge watch it that weekend! One of my all time favs!"
Another added: "What is there not to love? Amazing talented cast!! Incredible chemistry between the two main lead actors, Sam, Heughan, and Caitriona Balfe.
"Gorgeous cinematography all taking place in Beautiful Scotland. What a story!!!"
