And now the latest Bridgerton buzz sees fans losing their minds after the TV show's director finally having spoken out on the x-rated carriage scene theory.
So, for some context, the latest season focuses on friends-to-lovers Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington played by the likes of Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan.

In one of the recent episodes, the pair finally confess their feelings for one another before things heat up a notch - or five - in the back of a carriage.
During the hot and heavy make-out session, Colin slips his right hand under Penelope’s skirt before the carriage arrives outside Bridgerton House.
Those paying extra attention to Colin - well, his fingers - noticed how he was 'making sure to not touch' Penelope's dress using his second and third fingers on his hand when fixing her up for, well, reasons you can probably imagine.

One particularly eagle-eyed fan rushed to X, formerly Twitter, to share their fan theory for the finger placement writing: "I know it’s such an inappropriate question to ask but for the sake of journalism I need someone to take one for the team and ask who’s idea it was to have Colin fix Penelope’s dress with only a few fingers [sic]."
Finally addressing the erotic fan theory, Andrew Ahn, the director of the episode, responded to the tweet: "I wish I could take credit for this incredible moment of… physical authenticity, but I did not give this piece of direction.
"It was all Luke Newton!"

The admission only sparked further praise for both the character and the actor himself with one Twitter user gushing: "Thank you for this info, not only Colin Bridgerton but also Luke Newton is a green flag cuz that stunt he pulled is gagging everyone like how come he came up with that idea & we all noticed it he deserves his awards & praises."
"This is actually insane and it makes me love Luke even more for that detail," penned a second, while a third chimed in: "You don’t know what you’ve just done thank you."
A fourth quipped: "Safe to say from now on Luke Newton is the man written by a women."

"Love an actor that thinks about all the small but important details," echoed a final Twitter user.
