Ever wondered who Andy’s mum really is? Well, it’s time to find out if she’s actually another Disney character.
We all remember Andy’s mum from Toy Story, but did you ever take a second to see how similar she looks to another Disney film's character?
Maybe Riley Anderson from Inside Out?
In a video posted to Instagram by @asheleysspam, the links between multiple Disney films were connected, including Toy Story, Bugs Life, Turning Red, Inside Out and Monster’s Inc.

While you might not think they’re interlinked, Asheley believes they are and even proved it in her clip which shows her realising that Andy’s mum in the toy film is actually the same kid from the emotions flick.
Let’s break it down...
Riley looks like Andy’s mum. Hear me out. So, they both have fair hair and blue eyes, but they also have similar bone structure.
When Asheley connected their looks, she looked shooketh.

Then, there’s he case of a moment where the emotion, Joy, pulls out a little happy memory orb from Riley which shows her going down a slide as a little tot, Asheley checked the playground in Toy Story to find that it’s the same slide set.
Are the dots connecting or are they connecting?
Anyway, if that wasn’t enough, she linked Boo from Monster’s Inc through a blurred poster in Inside Out on Riley’s bedroom wall which appears to match the boyband group from Turning Red.

There’s a character in the film about puberty that looks like a little older Boo who wears purple, as well as cutting to a scene in Toy Story which shows a tot in the nursery who also looks like Boo.
So, they’re all connected?
Well, maybe.

How else would you explain that the very same Chinese takeout food container is used in The Incredibles, Inside Out, and Bugs Life.
It’s just too much of a coincidence, don’t you think?
Anyway, people on social media who watched the clip have varying opinions about it.
One person wrote: "yo WHAT," as another said: “NO WAY THATS CRAZY.”

Someone else commented: “Holy what!!!” Whereas, others think it’s just cutting down costs.
Someone said: “Or maybe, hear me out ... Disney wanted to take shortcuts and reused assets?” And another wrote: “Disney movies are all connected in some sort of way and yes they reuse many things.”
Or, it could be the classic Disney ‘Easter Eggs’ which is just like a little nod to each film in other movies. That’s a pretty good guess, actually.
While Riley really could be Andy’s mum, considering Inside Out was created a few years ago and Andy’s mum has been known to us for decades, the timeline doesn’t add up particularly well.
A user on Reddit clarified in a similar thread which asked if the two characters were the same people as they look very alike.
This user pointed out the difference in technology, writing: "Riley has a laptop in the movie, meaning it probably takes place around now-ish. So that would mean that Toy Story takes place in around 2035ish? Not very likely."
