I'm sure most horror movie fanatics will agree that, though they might leave you with nightmares for a night of two, the vast majority of gory blockbuster stories fail to have an impact on our day-to-day lives for very long.
That said, however, one batch of film buffs seem to have come to the consensus that a scene from one of the 2000s' most nostalgic scary movies changed one aspect of their lives forever.

When it comes to eerie plot lines, deliciously over-dramatised acting, and sheer gore, there is rarely a flick that tops the Final Destination franchise.
Ever since the first movie landed on cinemas 24 years ago (I know, anyone else feeling old?), the series has become a cult classic, despite the relatively low ratings from reputable film critics.
For those unfamiliar with the blood-curdling box set, each of the five, feature-length films tell the tale of a group of friends/associates that managed to narrowly escape the cruel clutches of death after one member suffers a future vision of their demise.
The first movie sees high school student Alex endure a premonition that the flight he and his pals are boarding will go up in flames mid-air, and after the group make the decision to flee before the doors are closed, his vision comes true.

Each movie follows the same premise - one group escapes from a huge car pile-up, a third from a rollercoaster that malfunctions, another from a car race crash, and the final group from a bridge that collapses.
Only once the group has survived, however, does the Grim Reaper begin picking them off one by one, killing them in bizarre accidents caused by a complicated chains of mistakes.
Among the hundreds of stomach-wrenching 'murders' that fill the movie series, however, is one which fans say continues to haunt them years after first watching.

Think back to the second movie in the series - one woman is enduring a vision of the gruesome car crash.
A police officer is driving home after a long day at work, when he accidentally pours some hot coffee on his lap.
Taking his eyes off the road, he ends up being blocked in by a lengthy lorry, carrying behind it colossal stacks of tree trunks and timber.
If you already know where I'm going with this, I can only apologise...

Anyway, a few seconds later, and the ties that are holding the timber to the lorry begin to loosen.
Suddenly, an almighty log become free and smashes through the windscreen of the car - length-ways, I might add -, taking the driver's head, shoulders, and torso with it.
The collision leads a following motorcyclist to come off his vehicle, only to be violently crushed by it as it catches up to him, and several other cars are either thrown off the road or utterly obliterated.

As fans know, however, many of these individuals managed to escape the disaster, as the entire horror show was simply a premonition of what was to come.
Either way, let's just say, the scene isn't for the fainthearted - but if you want to check it out for yourself, see below:
And taking to a movie fan page this week, after being asked for recommendations on horror films that would leave viewers 'paranoid for life', several followers gave Final Destination a shout-out, crediting the log scene in particular.
Sharing a snap of a similar timber truck, one social media user admitted: "I still change lanes if I see this..."
Another agreed: "me too!"
"I think everyone whose seen this film is scarred forever by this scene," a third added. "I don't drive but it's still terrifying".
A fourth continued: "this right here!!! still won't drive behind one!!!"
