Two Grey’s Anatomy stars have broken their silence on the show's writer’s fake cancer diagnosis after her sickening lies were exposed.
In 2022, writer and co-producer Elisabeth Finch was exposed for her web of lies after claiming to have survived a rare form of bone cancer, deceiving her friends, family, Grey’s Anatomy co-workers, and even her own wife.
Since then, Peacock has released a documentary, Anatomy of Lies, exploring Finch's 'betrayal' and the extreme lengths she went to convince others of the fake diagnosis.

Following the release of the doc, actresses Jessica Capshaw and Camilla Luddington, who play Arizona Robbins and Jo Wilson on the series, have addressed the ordeal earlier this week (28 October) on their Call It What It Is podcast.
"It never occurred to me to not believe her," Capshaw revealed. "The things that she lied about, you could never in a million years imagine questioning."

Luddington asked her costar about not being completely 'surprised' that Finch was lying about her cancer diagnosis - which was later revealed in 2022 when Vanity Fair ran an exposé on her claims confirming none of it was true.
Capshaw replied: "It’s so hard to explain.

"But again, I was not sitting in the seat of the woman who she married and represented a completely different life to/
"That feels like a movie."
Finch, who joined the popular ABC medical drama back in 2014, writing 13 episodes and producing a further 172, was placed on administrative leave following the release of the exposé, and later resigned from the Grey's Anatomy team after admitting to lying.

Since the doc's release earlier this month (15 October), Finch has taken to Instagram, where she shared a lengthy apology statement with her followers.
It begins: "I've given no one any reason to believe a word I say. I lied about so much; things so many people have been devastated by in real life.
"'I'm sorry' feels like the smallest words compared to what I've done, yet they are the truest."
