Potterheads will no doubt be extremely eager for the upcoming Harry Potter HBO series reboot set to grace our screens next year.
Ever since it was announced back in April 2023, fans of JK Rowling's World of Witchcraft and Wizardry were buzzing to find out who would be cast to carry on the legacy of the beloved film franchise, which will cover all seven Harry Potter books.
Warner Bros. TV boss Channing Dungey said last year that the upcoming series, which is set to premiere in 2026, will be 'more in-depth than you can in just a two-hour film… that’s the whole reason we’re on this journey'.

The series in question has previously confirmed it 'will feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail and much-loved characters Harry Potter fans have loved for over 25 years'.

"Each season will bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the original, classic and cherished films will remain at the core of the franchise and available to watch globally," HBO added.
And now, fans of the hit TV franchise have been told exactly who the core cast will be - and they're all Hollywood newbies.

Dominic McLaughlin will play Harry Potter while Arabella Stanton will take on the role of Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout will be the new Ron Weasley.
In the films, those roles were played by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, respectively, so these lot clearly have some big boots to fill!

"After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron," showrunner and executive producer Francesca Gardiner and executive producer and director (of multiple episodes) Mark Mylod said in a joint statement.

"The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned.
"It’s been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there."
