Without fail, we all cosy up on our sofas every year to rewatch all our classic faves from the Christmas film canon.
After getting through the rom-com tear-jerkers like Love Actually and The Holiday alongside the oldies but goldies like It's A Wonderful Life and iconic family flicks like The Grinch - for many of us, our absolute favourite is none other than Home Alone.
The family comedy has stood the test of time after first hitting our screens and warming our hearts back in 1990, starring the likes of a fresh-faced Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard and Catherine O'Hara.
The first film's plot centres around eight-year-old Kevin McCallister (Culkin) who is accidentally left behind when his family leaves for France. At first, he's happy to be in charge; but when thieves try to break into his home, he puts up a fight like no other.

Following the success of the first film, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York was released just two years later in 1992.
Fans of the franchise were introduced to a whole new setting alongside some new characters including the likes of Donald Trump who Culkin's character bumped into on the streets of the Big Apple.
In the film, Kevin also befriends someone who came to be known as the 'pigeon lady' - played by Brenda Fricker - given her closeness to her feathery friends.

Over the years, hawk-eyed fans of the sequel also pointed out her uncanny resemblance to none other than Piers Morgan.
Every year, without fail, someone pipes up that the pigeon lady 'is Piers Morgan with a wig on', with one person taking to Twitter writing: "@piersmorgan I just have to applaud you for your stellar acting work in Home Alone 2."
Another quipped: "Annual reminder that Piers Morgan got his start as the pigeon lady in Home Alone 2."
The accusations have been so relentless that the 59-year-old broadcaster was once forced to deny the rumours and put an end to the speculation that he appeared in the cameo role once and for all.

Back in 2020, when Morgan still presented Good Morning Britain, his co-host Susanna Reid claimed she could prove it.
Reid said: "Can we just have a look at Home Alone 2 because, frankly, it is the best picture.
"Because lots of people watch Home Alone 2 and wonder if this is you."

Morgan then hit out: "Why does this keep coming around? That is not me. I am not the bag lady in Home Alone 2."
Reid then showed 'proof' with a snap of Morgan covered in pigeons during a 2013 as even his own son brought it to light.
I'm still not fully convinced, I can't lie...
