A psychologist has revealed the benefits of celibacy after I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!'s Tulisa admitted she hasn’t had sex for years.
The 36-year-old N-Dubz star sat down with her campmates during last night as she candidly opened up about her love life, explaining to the celebs that she identifies as 'demisexual' - a sexual orientation where sexual attraction only occurs after a close emotional bond has been formed.
Acknowledging she was 'proper guarded' when it came to dating, the singer also revealed just how long it's been since the last time she had sex.
"I feel like I’m demisexual, I need to have a really close emotional bond with someone," she shared. "I need actual depth. I’m a slow, slow burner. I’ve been celibate for over three years."

During the chat, fellow campmate Dean McCullough asked Tulisa some more about her celibacy.
"I’m not an overly sexualised person," the 36-year-old 'Playing with Fire' singer explained. "For me, it’s all about the connection and the emotions that I feel with someone and then wanting to express them in that way."
Tulisa also added that it makes her feel 'physically sick' to imagine sleeping with or dating someone she doesn’t have a connection with, adding: "This is my temple, you cannot enter!"

James Pipe, a psychologist and criminologist from freegrantsforfelons.org, has since shared his insights on the benefits of celibacy, telling Tyla: "As someone who works closely with individuals navigating significant life changes, the concept of celibacy can be incredibly impactful for personal growth and self-discovery."
The expert explained that celibacy, whether temporary or long-term, can offer individuals the opportunity to focus inward, develop emotional intelligence, and build a healthier relationship with themselves'.
"From a psychological perspective, abstaining from sexual activity can foster clearer thinking and reduce distractions, allowing for more meaningful personal and interpersonal connections," he continued.

Also noting Tulisa's reference to her demisexuality, James noted: "For individuals identifying as demisexual - those who experience attraction based on deep emotional bonds - celibacy can be a way to align their actions with their values, prioritising emotional intimacy over physical gratification."
He explained that when relationships and trust are often strained, celibacy can provide a 'stabilising force', adding: "It empowers individuals to reflect on past choices, improve self-control, and cultivate a sense of personal agency."
James concluded: "Tulisa’s openness about being demisexual on such a public platform is a fantastic step forward in normalising diverse perspectives on sexuality and self-expression.
"It highlights the importance of authentic connections, something we could all benefit from embracing in our relationships."
